jlord, I didn't realize Thanadros was in such bad shape, although I realize now that you're keeping track of his HP in the subtitle of his profile name.
Feel free to drop an OOC comment whenever he's getting low. I don't promise to cure on my next turn, but I do promise to think about it.

"Auugh! Rats!" Gornak blurts as he steps back and tries to smash rats with his big hammer.
Note that rat swarms aren't immune to weapon attacks.

Yeah, well your hammer is like an Area of Effect Attack it's so big. All i've got is a dinky little mace.

Some two hundred and fifty feet down, if you must know. Strictly speaking you should be more spread out, but I am assuming that there's a top speed you can descend at on a spiral staircase (I've squeezed through enough in old castles to know) while doing so in armour is not so slow as unarmoured.
Say 3:1 pitch = 750' 60'/round --> about 12 rounds 40'/round -- about 16 rounds.
It's not so bad.

Nice to see you again, Dabbler. I can sympathize. Heavy lifting is more painful and the pain lasts longer these days.
Re: Emerion -- if 9 hp of cure gets him to 0 hp he can wake up. Otherwise try a DC 16 perception check, neglecting the penalty for unconsciousness. I already added it to the DC.

Sticking my nose in:
Initiatives:
Thanadros - 25
Gob - 22
X - 22
Iesha - 21
Ghouls - 21
Aylmora - 15
Gornak - 10
Vaclav - 4
I think this order still holds. Gornak attacks near the end of last round (3?) , and Vaclav finishes the round by reaching the bottom of the stairs.
New round (4?): Thanadros pumps 2 arrows into the bat and now it's GOb's turn. It does look like Dabbler missed your post about CLW on the ghoul attacking you, and I doubt your 3 hit points killed it, but I may have missed something.
Gob Slickarm |
Round 1: Gob delays until he sees the ghouls. Misses with crossbow.
Round 2: Gob hits a ghoul with cure light wounds.
Round 3: Gob shoots that ghoul with his crossbow.
Round 4: Gob has not gone, therefore I have not made his save yet.
Round 5: Still waiting on round 4 resolution.
Ghoul next to Gob took 8(?) damage just from me.
Gob's initiative should be on/around the ghouls now, since round 1..

I have a question about the Psychic Warrior class. The Warrior's Path ability seems pretty clear:
Warrior's Path (Ex)
At 1st level, a Psychic warrior chooses a path to adhere to (listed below). When first taking a path, the Psychic warrior gains one of the two powers associated with that path. Powers gained from a path do not count against his number of powers known. When manifesting this power, called a path power, the Psychic warrior can either choose to manifest it for no cost by expending his psionic focus, in which case it cannot be augmented, or he can choose to manifest it normally, in which case his effective manifester level for this power is treated as one higher than normal. At 3rd level, the Psychic warrior gains the second power from his path. All of the above benefits apply to this additional path power.
You pick a path, and eventually you get two bonus powers from it. So far, so good. But the Secondary Path ability is less clear to me:
Secondary Path (Ex)
At 9th level, the Psychic warrior gets to choose a second warrior's path. He chooses one of the path powers available from his new list. The Psychic warrior may only have two path powers in total from a single given path.
What does the last sentence mean? My understanding is that the psychic warrior picks a second path and a bonus power from that path. But in that case, how is "only two path powers from a given path" a restriction? Or is it just clarifying (or failing to clarify) what has already been said?

Hey everyone! Sorry for the unexpected silence, but this is the first chance I've had to get on the 'net since Sunday. Monday we drove most of the day from our old town to our new town to close on our new house, Tuesday the movers arrived with all of our stuff, and today the phone company finally connected our Internet. So we're slowly getting settled in. Working to catch up now!

I think it is a clarification, as having one power from one path, and two from another path, do not break this rule.

Nice! How's the new place?
It's great, but it's the oldest house we've ever owned (built in 1918). But it's younger than most of the houses and other buildings in town, which are pre-Civil War (and have the little plaques on them to show it). Plus it's north of the Mason-Dixon line, which is a big change for me.
Here's a funny quote overheard by our movers as they were unloading yesterday: Two little old ladies walked by the house and saw the moving truck. "Oh look! Someone's finally moving into that house! We should bring them something to welcome them to the neighborhood. Where are they from? The moving truck says Virginia. What do you think people from Virginia eat?"
