New classes / races and AP guides

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

Are player AP guides ever updated to reflect new classes, or at least this sort of issue addressed in blogs or some such?

As free products, they're one-and-done, they don't get later updates.

To expand on this, as a GM who returns to older material often (as many of us do), I don't think it's much more on our plate to go over that quickly during a session zero. "This game is set in a the Mwangi Expanse and a large variety of students come into the school. I would push you towards these ancestries, while these might feel a bit out of place. Likewise, there will be plenty of emphasis on magic, so classes like the gunslinger may not get the feeling they're going for."

The GM could check the AP forums to see if anybody has either made one or advice, i.e. don't play an X because they're significant enemies or hated by necessary allies.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Could be a good community project. Give advice or warning about certain classes that have since come out for that campaign. Would take a lot of work but would be a worthy sort of task that would help out many.

Incidentally, if anybody interested in Season of Ghosts wants to put any opinions on record about what new ancestries (particularly from the Tian Xia Character Guide) fit in well in the AP, I did start a thread for that a while ago that I'm sure no one would mind too much if you necromance'd.

Oh wow that was already over a year ago...
