Interest Check -- the Adventures of Robin Hood (PF1)

Recruitment

Just wondering if anyone is interested in a Robin Hood type fantasy campaign. Can be based in Greyhawk, Golarion (in fact, that one might be based in Cheliax), Forgotten Realms, or in Eberron come to think of it.

Straight up fantasy action as the outlaw band. I'm thinking of getting GURPS Robin Hood from Warehouse 23. (I have the AD&D 2nd Edition Crusades book). Yes, I had a weirdo dream last night about Keven Costner's Robin Hood. :)

In this game, you would be playing up to the dashing outlaw and his band of merry men. The enemies in the campaign include an NPC Sheriff of Nottingham, a Prince John type, and Sir Guy of Gisbourn. All fitted to the type of world it will be in.

I haven't gotten GURPS Robin Hood yet, but I'd like to know who would be interested in playing a game based on the famous, and dashing outlaw of the middle ages.

If I don't get into your other game. I would be interested

Well, I'm waiting on Evindyl's elan submission for Dark Sun.

But for an idea. Kitsune Ranger/Rogue
Noble type background

I have a copy of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (1994) and I recall it's parody Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Well, the best Robin Hood movie was Warner Bros The Adventures of Robin Hood made in 1938. It starred Errol Flynn and was mostly correct. If you can get past the stage fighting, which contained some of the best examples of stage combat of course.

The best Robin Hood movie is the 1973 Disney animated version. :P

I guess that's a matter of taste.

I recall that one as well, what a cheeky fox that robin hood.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Give me this afternoon, sorry, I didn't realize we were waiting.

I loaded all of that stuff into HeroLab again, it's awesome.

Steal from the rich and give to us.

Daffy Duck Robin Hood is best.

Liberty's Edge

What about Sean Connery's Robin and Marrion? It was a good look at an aged Robin and how the world had continued to move forward around him.

Yep, that's available to rent or buy from iTunes.

So is this interest dead in the water, or going ahead?

Since most people are talking about movies, I'll have to rethink on interest. I may post another thread in the future. A recruitment thread.

I think the movies, highlight one's interest and the subtle ideas of the robin hood world they are likely to reference when making their characters.

In my case it's less than slight :P

Indeed. I think most people in the 21st century who know Robin Hood know him through one movie or another. Not a lot of people reading Robin Hood and the Monk. Probably still a few reading Ivanhoe, I guess.

Yes, that's true.
