If you bought a combat trained mount, NOT AN ANIMAL COMPANION, and you want to ride it in combat, and not attack with it, do you have to make a DC20 Ride Check to do so?
For clarification.
Gnome paladin bought combat trained boar. This is NOT his lvl 5 Bonded mount.
Gnome rides into combat normally. This is normally a DC10.
Party runs in monstrous outsiders.
Paladin wants to attack while mounted, but only use the boar as a mount, and ride into combat.
GM states there has to be a DC20 ride check to "control mount in combat" or dismount and the mount runs away.
From what I see posted, that DC20 is for non combat trained mounts. I also see that combat trained means it has "hardened against the riggers of combat or war" and has the basic tricks outlined in Handle Animal.
Since the mount is not attacking, what, if any, is the DC for the paladin to ride into combat?

I only vaguely remember anything about purchased animals being battle trained or not. And I am not finding it at the moment.
What I am finding currently is the Mounted Combat rules. Which do say that for each action that you want the mount to use, you have to spend the same number of actions and make a Command an Animal check against the animal's Will DC.
The Ride feat will remove that check when you command the mount to use Move actions, but not if you want it to attack (which you mentioned that you don't).
Since the mount is not attacking, what, if any, is the DC for the paladin to ride into combat?
So, short answer is: Without the Ride feat, The Will DC of the boar. Each time that you want it to take a Stride action.
