We're considering Wardens of Wildwood after our current Abomination Vaults campaign. One of our players prefers to begin at 1st-level, in his words, "To get to know his character."

Crown of the Kobold King immediately comes to mind, though it potentially goes to 6th-level. Darkmoon Vale is in Andor, which is very convenient. That might make the Strongly Recommended classes and character backgrounds in the Wardens of Wildwood player's guide more attractive.

Rusthenge is an option, too. It's so far away, though. It may make Wardens of Wildwood player's guide material a tough sell.

Any other adventures come to mind?


Dunno if you already ran it as part of/alongside Abomination Vaults, but Trouble in Otari is 2nd to 4th or 5th level. And if you didn't already do the Beginner's Box you could do that for level 1-2. Of course, your players might be tired of Otari as a setting for that.


One thing to keep in mind is that Crown of the Kobold King takes place in 4707 and has elements that firmly place it as such. The GM would at least have to do some editing on some plot points to place it sooner on the timeline.


We’re doing Rusthenge, maybe the Enmity Cycle (only if we have ties to the pathfinder-faction), then Wildwood, then Curtains Call if we still wanna continue to (nigh) 20th.

Rusthenge will make Curtains Call more impactful since we’ll know the deity that dies. Rusthenge will however

also entrust us with a dangerous artifact that might impact the plot of the next adventure if we don’t find a way to lock it away. Giving it to the pathfinder society is the easiest solution but a more interesting (risky) option would be to give it to the Wildwood Lodge for future drama

The only travel options from Iron Islands to Verduran are via overland, water, air, or magic. I doubt there are many airships in the Archipelago so overland, water, magic (or a combination of these) seems the easiest.


I actually just thought of a cool use for the Thassilonian bonus language from the Rusthenge adventure “Osprey Spellcaster” background

I was at first confused why anyone would take such a background if they planned on Wildwood later, but there are some advantages to (at least two) PC’s knowing a language unused elsewhere.

They would essentially be able to communicate in combat or social situations without tipping off NPC or PC characters with no knowledge of the language. Not sure if it makes the background any more worthwhile compared to other backgrounds that might offer more useful stuff- but it’s a novel idea. The Verudan forest is likely to have monsters and other NPC’s that are familiar with green languages such as Fey, Druidic, Elven, Akko, or Gnomish.

It will make it obvious to NPCs that the party is up to something that they don't want them to know about though.


The Free RPG Day adventures A Fistful of Flowers and A Few Flowers More take place in the Verduran Forest. They are for a set of 3rd-level and 4th-level pregenerated leshy characters respectively, but I played it with my players generating their own leshy characters (Playtesting in A Fistful of Flowers with 7 Leshies) and dropped the level to 2nd due to an oversized party. Leshy-friendly characters could work with a little more adaption. They do highlight some troubles that the inhabitants of the Verduran Forest face.

However, the level-up from 3rd to 4th level is arbitrary. The adventures are too short to earn the experience points.
