Hey guys, i've made a Promethean Alchemist, but with a lack of bombs and mutagens, im struggling to find a good list of feats to pick from... I've already got my homunculus' things picked out, but its been tough without weapon focus etc on the alchemist itself. I've been thinking of just going full on potion maker and using them to super buff the pet, but besides the potion discoveries and retaking brew potion, I'm just sitting on a ton of Extra Discovery/Traits feats

Yeah, that's a tough spread. The promethean alchemist doesn't really get that much use out of intelligence over 16.
Crafting is probably your best bet for big investment. For combat, I'd focus on a throwing build. Take Throw Anything and keep a good stock of splash weapons. Take the Master Alchemist feat when you can.

With an intelligence that high, it would be a complete waste to not make use of it. I'd suggest using the variant multiclass rules to pick up one of the three available classes that make use of intelligence available to you: Witch, Wizard, or Magus.
Personally, I'd go with Wizard to gain access to school powers (at 7th level) and the familiar (3rd level). The level 11 cantrip is pretty much a wash, but if you pick up the right school it won't really matter. What school? Void. Reveal Weakness will utterly cripple the defenses of one enemy for a turn, without offering a saving throw.

hopefully the summoner is UnchSummoner class.
TBH sounds like a different way to do the summoner thing replacing eidolon with homunculus. Potions means you are signing up for medium cost consumables as a path to power... that's gonna hit your resources.
Alchemist Promethean archetype
I'm gonna suggest that you dip into Wizard 1 or Cleric/Druid 1 to expand your spell list. You're only gonna pick up a first level school power so it's not that important. (I'd really suggest you check out my Mage-killer build or be a Wizard (diviner, enchanter, or illusionist as those are rather different).

Azothath wrote:what about the Homunculist and Alch discov Promethean Disciple? you lose less and get the homunculus. The character is already in play. But the Prometheus alchemist can be a fine archetype. You just have to build around what it can and can’t do.
thanks - you must know more about the gamer's situation than is posted.
Promethean lose; Brew Potion, Throw Anything, Bombs, Mutagen (& cognatogen ). The first two you got for Craft Construct feat. The second two got you a loyal replaceable homonculus companion (the term familiar is avoided).
For 9 Discoveries you could take Poison(5-7 good discoveries), Extract(2-3), Potion(3-4 & costs a feat to get Brew Potion back), & other(Spell Knowledge, Tumor Familiar).
There are three linked "other" discoveries you're expected to take; alchemical simulacrum @8, doppelganger simulacrum @10, and greater alchemical simulacrum @14 which leaves you with 6.
The potion ones are kinda core so that's 3-4. So it's Extracts or Poison as they are interconnected discoveries and maybe the 2 other "other" discoveries... it depends on what you want to specialize in.
IF you could cast then you could scribe a scroll which is half the price of a potion. Picking up a spell list (multiclassing) really gives you fodder for Scribe Scroll and it skips the 3rd spell level ceiling on Brew Potion. I'd check with your Home GM as technically Alchemist's don't cast spells so scribing a alchemist spell takes GM agreement but it is a very good alternative. Then you could apply regular metamagic feats to the spells you scribe and skip Brew Potion and the Alchemist potion discoveries.

I've made assumptions based on what was posted. I suppose I could have misunderstood.
its been tough without weapon focus etc on the alchemist itself.
That implied to me that the character has seen some play by now. Also one of the characters is an arcane trickster, which implies that this party is level 5+.

For feats it's a bit different. Clearly you're gonna pick up Brew Potion or Scribe scroll. Brew Potion links with 3-4 discoveries while Scribe Scroll links to 2-3 metamagic feats. Craft Wondrous is worth it IF you will be crafting in your home campaign.
As you'll have Craft Construct, check out Soulbound dolls.
I'm not sure Throw Anything is worth it, especially without bombs.
Your Weapon proficiencies are all simple wpns. That will lead to cestus, dagger, morningstar, spear, heavy crossbow(s). mwk mithral cestus, mwk cold iron morningstar are classics. Cold iron bolts with weapon blanch silver applied, thistle bolts, durable adamantine bolts. If you have the cash mwk spidersilk bodysuit with enhancements and sunsilk lining but for your Dex studded leather is more cost efficient.
Your ranged is better than your hand-to-hand so point blank and precise shot with heavy crossbow (get and load two). If you had some good martial weapons then maybe Weapon Finesse. Unseen Servant is good for weapon swapping and holding, crossbow cranking is debatable, but it's better than using your homonculus to do the same tasks (and another reason to multiclass & expand your spell list).
As you're at 3/4 BAB Defensive Combat Training and Agile Maneuvers are not as attractive.
IF you give your homonculus teamwork feats then at least two other party members need them (you being one).
Master Alchemist feat is great if you plan to crank out alchemical items.
