So we've got a big shake-up coming later this year, with it confirmed that at least 1 deity is dying. Lots of fun, can't wait for it.
What happens to Society PCs who are dependent in some way on that deity, like a cleric or champion of said deity? Would there be a rebuild period? Would that character be allowed to change to a different deity but keep for example domain selections in case the new deity doesn't have the domains that the cleric chose previously?
My google-fu did not show that this topic had be brought up, and I'm curious because I was thinking of building a cleric for my next character and I don't want to get into a situation where I choose say Milani and then later this year oops Milani kicked the bucket and now I have to choose someone else.
This is also presuming that the deity in question is one that is allowed for worship in PFS, so this may not be a concern at all.

Personally, my guess is old characters would be grandfathered in with the option to rebuild/convert/something else, while new characters of those deities can't be made.
Mostly because it would be a huge logistical hassle to try and force everyone to convert, and would risk alienating players if they GMs needed to force them to change their previously legal characters, as it could ruin those PCs mechanically and/or flavor-wise.

As the death of some deities is going to be a major element of a number of books that Paizo are publishing, I think we can be safe with the assumption that they will publish what happens to worshipers of those deities.

I can't possibly comment on this matter without adding fuel to the speculation fire about which god(s) are about to have A Bad Time. If I say "we've discussed this and have a plan" it implies PFS-legal deities are in trouble; if I say we haven't or not to worry about it, it implies the opposite. Much as I love causing drama and winking cheekily at the camera, in this case it's not my place to do so. I hope that the way we have handled the Remaster can provide some solace and guidance about how we would handle future world-shaking events, if and when they affect the campaign.

Please don't read any hints into this post.If there are any gods on the chopping block who are currently PFS-legal, I can assure you that our method of handling this change absolutely would not be "sorry, all your characters are illegal now, update them immediately or suffer Consequences."

Ahhh... Okay, I missed that thread. Okay, between this and a lot of what other posters have said I'm feeling okay going forward with my cleric... as soon as I can get the time together to get a better feel for the character.
Silly life, interrupting my time to play games.
