Will the changes to the Wizard in Pathfinder 2nd Remaster allow a player/game master to recreate existing spell schools?
This would be mostly about converting existing characters.

TBH I don't see why not. I think your school slots would still only have a few options of spell to pick from at each level, but it looks like the hardest part of making a new wizard school is the focus spells, and all the old schools already had focus spells, so you just port those over, find some thematic spells in your school to pair for options at each level, and you're golden.

You can always recreate anything you want for your own games but the short answer is no, you cannot. Part of what made schools good was the sheer number of spells you had access to for that final slot. The new schools give between 1 and 3 spells per spell rank and even if you made a custom school that gave three spells per rank you'd fall well short of what the old schools used to give.

Absolutely yes, it looks simple, just time consuming.
You'd pick out a few spells of each level that are standard, the ones that are automatically learned.
Then the rest of the thematic spells are just the ones that can fit in the +1 slot.
There may be a few more wrinkles, but it is pretty clear that you are supposed to be able to massage new spells into the curriculum from the description of the class ability.

Given that this would be mostly for importing an existing wizard (transmuter), I agree with the other's who suggested that it could work.

Do you want to convert existing wizards over to a similar new school? Yeah, that's easy. They mostly map to one of the schools, with illusion and enchantment getting merged thematically. They'll have a smaller spell selection for the bonus slot, but as a GM, I'd probably grab the player's favorite spell of each rank from the old school and add it to the list for the new one. That should avoid a player feeling like they're missing out on something important from before, without doing much work.
Also, Illusionist can be carried forward with no problem, because illusion is still a spell tag.

School of Protean Form should do a good job of that. The new focus spell let's you scramble an enemy's body a bit to make them sickened, if I remember correctly.
The spell selection:
Cantrips: Gouging Claw, Tangle Vine
1: Jump, Pest Form, Spider Sting
2: Enlarge, Humanoid Form
3: Feet to fins, vampiric feast
4: Mountain Resilience, Vapor form
5: elemental form, toxic cloud
6: cursed metamorphosis, petrify
7: duplicate foe, duplicate foe, fiery body
8: Desiccate, monstrosity form
9: Metamorphosis

So why not just use the old schools then? I figured you wanted to recreate it 1-to-1 in a way that might be PFS legal. If you're okay with close enough then yeah, obviously you can make it work. I'm surprised you'd even ask.
