Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I know that this is the world that paizo create but some of the mechanic are changed to fit in the game so no matter what gods are the maximum power in the game, but if we look to the history is the titans who create the gods like Cronos and Rhea who give birth to Zeus, Poseidon, hades, Demeter, hestia and Hera; so in your opinion is the tita be less or more powerful than the God's?
As for my opinion I say yes because they are born from a superior force of chaos (like Gaia who create Uranus to love and their children where the titans)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You'll talking about incompatible lore.

It doesn't matter that the lore for the Greek gods is that they were birthed by the Titans. The titans were effectively deities in the same was that the Greek gods were deities.

And all of that lore isn't really compatible with the lore on Golarion. You can't really use it to draw any conclusion about a game set in Golarion.

If you look at the "Titans" as a generation of deity, then the Greek "gods" would be a subsequent generation of deity. And in Greek lore Zeus slew his father Cronus and the Titans were ultimately banished or killed.

All of which is a long way of saying, some gods will be more powerful than others. Or perhaps they will find an opportune time to strike at one another, in which they target is in a weak moment/position.

Ultimately...I don't think your question really makes sense.

I am also not sure what your question is. From what I can see you seem to be asking if are the titans in Greek mythology more powerful than the gods. The fact that the gods (Zeus in particular) beat the titans would seem to indicate that at least Zeus is more powerful than the titans.

Yea but I read this article that say:
"Titan, in Greek mythology, any of the children of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaea (Earth) and their descendants. According to Hesiod’s Theogony, there were 12 original Titans: the brothers Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Cronus and the sisters Thea, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, and Tethys. At the instigation of Gaea the Titans rebelled against their father, who had shut them up in the underworld (Tartarus). Under the leadership of Cronus they deposed Uranus and set up Cronus as their ruler. But one of Cronus’ sons, Zeus, rebelled against his father, and a struggle then ensued between them in which most of the Titans sided with Cronus. Zeus and his brothers and sisters finally defeated the Titans after 10 years of fierce battles (the Titanomachia). The Titans were then hurled down by Zeus and imprisoned in a cavity beneath Tartarus."

All Zeus brother and sisters fight against, but not all the titans since Rhea save Zeus to be eaten and she is a titan to.
So the word god for Zeus and the others is only used for the mortals but they are still sons and daughters of titans.
As for what you said is incompatible lore I already said that is not a fact between golarion history and Greek mythology, i just ask in your perspective who is more powerful that all

It seems like it is pretty obvious that in Greek mythology the gods are more powerful since they won the war. In the game the gods are always more powerful than anything else.
