Fleet and non-land-based movement

Rules Questions

it appears to me that fleet should apply to all movement modes you have a move speed in. for instance, your animal companion takes fleet, increases all move modes by 5. possibly to movement gained from a spell as well. thoughts?

Sovereign Court

If you want to run it like that in your game, no one is going to stop you.

sigh. thanks for giving me permission to do whatever i want, but there is a reason i posted this in the rules questions forum and not the homebrew forum. i'm soliciting opinions about the RAW, and whether i'm reading it right.

The Fleet feat is one of the many occasions in the rules where a basic humanoid, small or medium size, no special modes of movement, 5 foot reach etc. is assumed, and the rules are not specific on the "general" case.

Benefit: While you are wearing light or no armor, your base speed increases by 5 feet. You lose the benefits of this feat if you carry a medium or heavy load.

So your "base speed" increases. As I would read it, if you have multiple base speeds (such as an eagle for example, which has a land speed and a fly speed), all of them increase.

+1. In the core rulebook there are no races that have additional movement speeds, nor are there rules for playing any of the races from the beastiary.

what do y'all think about spells that give you additional movement speeds?
