Elements about the Time

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hello, I search informations, places, magic items, inventions about the Time.

For example, there is the Adventure Path Return of the Runelords about the Dimension of Time.

Is it possible to use House at the Edge of Time in the Kingmaker adventure path [Sound of a Thousand Screams] ? Does it still functional ?

There is a machine,an excavator Graveraker in Agents of the Edgewatch adventure path [Ruins of the Radiant Siege ]. I would like some explanation about its excavator.

Other books to search other informations, places, ... ?

Thanks for your future answer.

Well, you might be interested in Time Dragons

The Scepter of Ages

Book 2 of Ruins of Azlant has a backmatter article about a place with a Time Wizard? I think. You can loot Electro-Temporal Bracers somewhere in there.

Return of the Runelords also has a city trapped in time. There's a brief time loop in Book 6 of Mummy's Mask.

The Graveraker is powered by Chaos, so there's some time dilation effects going on in there.

Book 2 of Ages of Edgewatch features a time-themed dungeon, I believe.

Dark Archive has an entire chapter on time oddities, and adds a linked Mystery for Oracles, as well as two time-themed Archetypes.

I think you may be thinking of the second book of Outlaws of Alkenstar, Cradle of Quartz.

Cradle of Quartz wrote:
Time is of the essence when the formula for the devastating explosive pyronite falls into the wrong hands. To secure the formula and even the score with the sinister rival who ruined them, a motley gang of outlaws must brave the weird and wild wastes of the Spellscar Desert. At the center of this mutant-filled wasteland, the outlaws discover an abandoned temple of time called the Cradle of Quartz. But while redemption and a fresh start might be nice perks, the outlaws seek something far more valuable among the Cradle's time-warped halls: revenge.

You’d be correct! I got my wires crossed.

Kingmaker Book 6:
Sound of a Thousand Screams wrote:

The House is a creation of a powerful entity of the First World, and its architecture is a part of the world itself. Known as the House at the Edge of Time for its timeless quality (it alone has existed unchanged for Thousandbreaths’ long existence.

The House exists in the past and the future, the maybe and the never. One room may be clean and bright, with liveried servants and gaiety, while others are collapsing and decayed. Some have been damaged by the arrival of the PCs who slew the Queen yesterday and will do so tomorrow in this land of the impossible. Yet as strange as these warpings in time may be, stranger still is the fact that they remain constant, as if a storm of fractured time tore through the structure, only to be frozen forever in the middle of a chaos of a hundred different eras. This is how the House was when Nyrissa created it so long ago, and how it will remain—until the uprooting of Thousandbreaths.

If the PCs uproot Thousandbreaths, the House at the Edge of Time is torn out of the First World and merges with the ruins of the Castle of Knives—the two locations become one. In addition to now functioning according to the realities of the Material Plane, rather than being subject to the traits of the First World. ((Loses the Static Time feature))

((After Villain's defeat)) If Thousandbreaths still exists there, it is immediately uprooted and cast into the Material Plane. The House at the Edge of Time immediately crumbles and suffers thousands of years of erosion at once as if inf licted by constricting vegetation, rainfall, lightning strikes, and subsidence—effectively transforming into the ruins known today as the Castle of Knives.

So, if you follow the AP according to its written material, the House is destroyed when Nyrissa is destroyed. If you've gone off script and lost or redeemed her or some other thing then it might be around.

There, she has a final task for the PCs: restore the nymph Nyrissa to life. Apparently the whimsical Eldest known as the Lantern King somehow

managed to snatch up Nyrissa’s fading life energy and spirit it back to the First World. Yet, rather than allowing it to restore the nymph in her homeland, he’s bottled it in a weird parody of the sword Briar and set it at the heart of the restored House at the Edge of Time.

Is it possible to restore Nyrissa to life with Sword of Briar ? (Because it was created out of the emotions of the nymph queen Nyrissa.)

With a resurrect ritual (heightened 9th) or a wish ?

Continuing the campaign stuff is always a big bag of 'Maybe'. None of it happens unless the GM wants it to happen. Since you're the GM? Sure. Anything you want. Does it make sense? Eh. "Fey Magic" covers a lot of sins. "An Eldest did it" covers the rest.

If it was me? No. If you killed Nyrissa with her own ability to love, then that's something irrecoverable.

But, in that same vein, I think that Wish can do anything. Because its Wish. Its actual limitations are up to table variation. I don't know if the resurrect ritual manages, but that depends on Nyrissa's stats in 2e since you mentioned heightening rituals and all.

Keep in mind, its not like you need the House on the Edge of Time to make something that has the properties of the House on the Edge of Time.

What other properties has it got? I'm curious because I can't find the Pathfinder Wiki article on it; everything's occluded by guides for the Kingmaker video game.

If the only property it has is that it's timeless, that isn't something you can currently achieve in PF2E to my knowledge. You can't give demiplanes you create the Timeless trait with Create Demiplane anymore. In fact, you can't alter the flow of time in them at all. I'm glad that was removed; I have someone with a timeless demiplane in a PF1E game I'm running and it makes things so much more confusing.

I'm talking from a GM perspective, which is what I assumed the aim was as most players never get into time travel that deeply (because no sane GM would allow it, imo.) In the AP, the House would return to its default setting after 24 hours. Enemies that were defeated were revived, loot that was taken returned to its original location, damage to the building was undone. It was a mechanic to force the party to do the entire thing in one sitting essentially. Or to learn what parts could be skipped.

And as a GM, all you need is to say that the location does that. Because Magic.
