I'm currently thinking about making an android technomancer (battle medic theme), and I was hoping to use Profession (Surgeon) with it. However, I'm not sure if that qualifies as a wisdom, charisma, or intelligence skill. My initial assumption would be intelligence, but I'd love to hear what other people think.
A Profession skill should not overlap with existing skills. For example, if you want to play a scientist, you should put ranks into Life Science or Physical Science rather than create a Profession (scientist) skill.
I think Surgeon would overlap with Medicine Skill so I don't think it would be a suitable profession. Assuming your GM is fine with it and its not replacing Medicine, I would say Int

I would say INT as well.
I would allow it as a skill, but it only allow it for the treat deadly wounds aspect of the medicine skill.
You'll need to take medicine if you want to know long term care and first aid and what not.
Profession (Surgeon) would help with knowledge checks about other surgeons in the field or the processes involved with running a surgery business; it wouldn't actually help with medicine checks outside of knowing stuff about sticky-inny-cutty-outy business practices and history.
Remember that one of the functions of a Profession is making a Day Job check; you could be an amazing doctor with a high Medicine score, but if you don't know how to market or present your practice, you're not going to make as much money as you would if you were a "real professional."
