Making Good Hope... Better Hope

I'm looking for ways to make Good Hope better for everyone (not just feats that boost my own bonus from it). Being a morale bonus, it can stack with Bardic Inspiration so it is of particular interest to me.

So far I've found a trait, Rousing Courage:

Quote:

Rousing Courage

Source Divine Anthology pg. 16
Category Religion
Requirement(s) Andradd
A dwarven warrior’s simple act of courage in Angradd’s name inspired you during one of your first battles. Now, you strive to be equally inspiring to others. Once per day, when you generate an effect that grants a morale bonus, increase that bonus by 1 for all creatures affected.

Is there anything else that improves the bonus from Good Hope? I could have sworn there was an item or a feat that boosted morale bonuses that come from you, but for the life of me cannot find it.

Encouraging spell (metamagic) increases morale bonuses from its spell by 1; +1 spell level though.

Moment of greatness (spell) doubles a morale bonus for one roll.

Strength of submission (trait) gives +1 attack/damage while under a compulsion.

Extreme mood swings (feat) increases morale bonuses by 1, 2 if you're drunk.

... and on top of that : Spell Perfection (at higher levels)

I wouldn't advise too strongly about focusing on a 1/day trait... but, besides that which has already been mentioned, the ever-popular Flagbearer/Banner of Ancient Kings replicates the effects of Good Hope as a constant aura.

The Imperious Bloodline increases morale bonuses by +1. For the duration for you, but only a number of rounds equal to your Charisma modifier for others (and is slightly limited). Though rounds/Cha is usually plenty if you are casting good hope once per fight.

Annoyingly this means you either need a 3-level dip in sorcerer or the Improved Eldritch Heritage feat. Or single-class sorcerer and find a way to add good hope to the sorcerer spell list, though I can't think of one right now.

edit: Ring of Spell Knowledge IV. That would work.

OK, so a human bard 15 casts good hope.

Among his feats are Skill Focus: Perform (Oratory), Eldritch Heritage (Imperious), Improved Eldritch Heritage, Encouraging Spell, and Spell Perfection (good hope). He uses his Heroic Echo ability. For some reason he worships Angradd, and decides to use that once-per-day trait.

+2 (normal)
+2 (Encouraging + Spell Perfection)
+1 (Heroic Echo)
+1 (Rousing Courage)

Total bonus is +6. There are a few abilities that the recipients might possess to increase that number, but can anyone think of other ways for the caster to increase the bonus for everyone?

You might be thinking of the Courageous weapon enchant... pre-errata. The change from first printing to second was: In courageous, in the last sentence, after “any morale bonus” add “on saving throws against fear”.

Wow :)

Interestingly enough, the bloodline ability is good for Bards if you are willing to double up on the bonuses (one for Good Hope, one for Inspire Courage) at level 9. Of course, that's 3 feats to pull it off.

Definitely going to grab an Encouraging metamagic rod. Seems the easiest of all of the options to get.

Annoyingly enough, it doesn't work on Inspire Courage.

At 3rd level, when you receive a morale bonus from any spell, spell-like ability, or magic item, including those you cast on yourself, that bonus increases by +1. At 9th level, this ability also applies to competence bonuses.

Inspire Courage is (Su)

Silver Crusade

Note that Inspire Courage's hit and damage bonuses are competence, not morale.

The best way to make Good Hope better is to make it a constant effect... Flagbearer and the Banner of Ancient Kings replicates the effects of the spell as a constant aura. The party no longer has to rely on you using a precious spell slot.

Now, put all that effort into making Inspire Courage better. Lol.

By level 13, you could be looking at about a +7 competence bonus from Inspire Courage, and the +2 morale bonus from Flagbearer/Banner of Ancient Kings... so something like a +9 bonus to your boys for a swift action and 1rnd of Performance. Then you cast Haste...

Example vanilla Bard 13:
1. Combat Reflexes
3. Bodyguard
5. Extra Performance
7. Flagbearer
9. Master Performer
11. Discordant Voice
13. Grand Master Performer

BAB +9
Base Saves +4/+8/+8
CL 13, 5th level spells

Gear:
+1 Impervious Whipwood Longspear, Banner of Ancient Kings, Dervish Sikke, some other stuff...

Having played an Imperious Bloodline Sorcerer I can second this - IN ADDITION NOTE they can add to a competence bonus (from a sell, spell-like ability or item) too, e.g. the guidance cantrip for doing this to skills on the cheap.
