I would definitely rule out any vacation spot that is the starting point for an AP, for obvious reasons.
Is it that obvious? Absalom Station is still fascinating, despite Dead Suns. The Burning Archipelego continues to be amazing after Dawn of Flame. Now I have not done Attack of the Swarm, so I do not know how poor Suskillon fared during the swarm attack.... but I am not sure one can make that assumption.
On the other hand, it might be fun to have a character who starts an AP as a clueless tourist. I am big fan of Twoflower and the Luggage from Terry Pratchett's novels. I wonder... is the luggage more of a drone or a companion creature?
Hmm

No longer thinking about vacations I may have to move permanently to Eox or the dark side of Verces. Had a very minor wound that got infected, had a severe allergic reaction to the over the counter topical antiboitac, then to the prescription topical antibiotic, finally got an internal prescription, had a reaction to that one too, but they're not sure if it an allergic reaction, or a side effect of it, which could be a permanent allergic reaction to sunlight... At least I don't have an urge to drink blood yet.
Verses have all ways interest me would be interesting to live someplace where it's all ways at sunset.

An allergy to sunlight sounds awful, Ashbourne. I hope it's not permanent. You know, one vacation possibility for you might be Kalo-Mahoi. Being underneath a crust of ice would cut down on sunlight, and you could have a lot of fun swimming there and hanging with the Kalos.
Other options that might work include Roselight Station which hangs in the clouds of Liavara. And if you're looking for someplace to settle, there is plenty of mining work there.
Visiting Arkanen at the time of Deep Dive or in midst of the Full Breath festival might be a possibility, too. When Arkanen dives into Liavara's clouds, there is spectacular lightning, the Spark performances, and tons of drunk Dirindi and Sazurons thronging the streets and ready to party, as it is one of the break periods for the SENOT educational system. You might get zapped with electricity by friendly dirindi, but sunlight should be at a minimum.

"Benny from the Mummy!" Zo! grins. "Now there was a character! Such comedic timing, ruthlessness and guile! It's a pity that he perished before the Gap. I would have loved to have him as a minion for my entertainment network."
Zo! peers at Ashbourne and the Wolf. "I don't suppose either of you would be interested in an eternal internship with Zo! Entertainment?"

It likely would take several lifetimes to fix all my bad spelling and typing habits an eternal internship might be the way to go.
