It is for 2E, and there was a bestiary add on for the 5th edition of "the world's most popular role playing game."
It was delayed. I don't remember the new projected release, but I believe that James Jacobs has finished the initial pass over the core adventure material, if I recall the updates correctly.
I have no idea relating to its later availability. I presume it will be as that's leaving money on the table.

Thank you for the reply.
I've been a long time player of 1rst ed and I completely missed out on kingmaker. Seriously I've been playing since the 70's and somehow never found the Kingmaker series back in 2010.
Not this time around. Now I keep tabs on new stuff and hope to get the 'new' Kingmaker if/when it arrives.

I was just trying to find this out myself...
In the November update on: https://www.gameontabletop.com/cf194/kingmaker-10th-anniversary.html
James Jacobs says "November saw me shifting my work on the Kingmaker project away from the massive 640-page Adventure Path—those files are now all off to the editors and designers for review. Once they’re all laid out, I’ll be returning to start the process of copyfitting and making last-minute development changes to the words."
Which means they're onto editing and layout, which is probably just finishing, and then printing. Which can take a few months.
And they probably don't want to have the first book out too far ahead of 1e and 5th Edition D&D Bestiaries.
June at the earliest. Probably closer to August or September.
Plenty of time to start another campaign and have that finish before Kingmaker is out.

They posted an update around the 4th, sounded like the companion book is in edit. Still waiting on art, starting the bestiaries. The 5th edition aspect is going to be looked over by people more familiar with the system. Of course, KM originally being a PF1 game that bestiary might not be too difficult to put together, but they are reverse-engineering certain 2e monsters to 1e. Also, the art hasn’t all been assembled yet. KM already had a lot of great art, so curious to see more of the new additions. (Im assuming for new monsters, character options, etc.) the updates are all at gameontabletop.

When there's a release date, I'm sure there will be Paizo blog post about it.
