Ogreborn and Forgeborn

Where can I find "Ogreborn" and "Forgeborn?" One of my prospective players want to play this race and class combination. I was thinking of persuading her to play a half-ogre alchemist, but I want to know where these come from.

d20PFSRD has some support for 3pp, including a forgeborn race and a forgeborn bloodrager bloodline. Couldn't find anything about ogreborn, though.

Personally, I have some bad experiences with players being persuaded to anything, so I wouldn't do it. But at the same time, if one of my players would ask for exotic character options, I'd see it as their job to provide the according book.

Ogrekin is a template, but not suited to PCs in most parties.

Personally I'm not big on 3rd party material, as it can open a proverbial Pandora's box of people asking for things, some of which are likely to be broken.

I prefer (in general) to provide a whitelist of sources players can use, which is generally any of the Paizo hardback book sources (so excluding companion lines). Although I do state that I am potentially open to other sources on a case by case basis, but want my players to understand it's not a grab bag.

As to the items the player requested...if they're after a template I'd have to say flatly no on the Orgekin.

As to the forgeborn, I don't see anything problematic, but I would tell the player that there is no psionics.

There was a half-giant race in 3.5, weirdly a psionic one. But it didn't make the transition - I wasn't a fan so no loss on my part.

Oggr is an ogre-descended race from Dreamscarred Press, same company as Forgeborn.

Thanks for the link KahnyaGnorc! The oggr definitely scratches that old Half-Ogre itch from ADnD era Dragon magazine...

Half-giants were originally from Dark Sun, which was a setting in AD&D 2e days in which psionics were a lot more common.

That was probably why they became associated with psionics later, even though in Dark Sun they were no more or less likely to be psionic that elves, halflings, or humans.
