Witch Discern Secrets

Rules Discussion

I'm trying to decide if I like this or not, and there's one use case that came to mind on it I'm unsure about.

The maximum sustained duration is 1 minute. The immunity is 1 minute. Is that from when you cast it or when you stop sustaining it? Basically, can I keep casting/sustaining it in order to give a seamless +1 to a party member so that it applies to longer activities?

Because I want to look at it and be able to just name Discern Secrets as an exploration activity so that the guy in front has +1 perception. Then throw it on the medic for +1 medicine while patching people up (granted, Assurance Medicine is popular). Etc.

Immunity will kick in at the end of the spell duration (if it kicked in at the start, the creature would be immune to the effects and gain no benefit)

Sustaining for 10 minutes will fatigue the character, so is generally a bad idea anyway. Depending how you choose to read Sustaining a spell on CRB p304, sustaining a spell to its full duration can fatigue a character as well. Someone else might have more insight on that interaction

Either way, if the character becomes fatigued, he can no longer sustain spells

As mentioned, casting a spell repeatedly for perception would fatigue you. repeats a spell

But if you expect a battle within a minute or 2, it works.

For most thing that uses recall knowledge, it is an easy +1. Your not going to be recalling knowledge for 10 minutes straight.
