Core Rulebook pdf Updated 5 August 2020

Starfinder Society

The Exchange 4/5 5/5

I'm assuming this means SFS is immediately using the new version where applicable? We've hit the time period where a new player may buy the pdf and not realize there was an earlier version. And can't access it even if they know.

No changelog yet, but I definitely see that the medicinals have had their price reduced thanks to the efforts of the Starfinder Society!

Sovereign Court 4/5 5/5 ** Venture-Lieutenant, Netherlands—Leiden

There are some changes that I'm sure will lead to discussion on how they apply in SFS. (Euphemism alert.)

That is a significant change to Enhanced Resistance.

Enhanced Resistance

You have trained your body to resist a particular type of damage.
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +4.
Benefit: Choose one kinetic damage type (bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing) or one energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic). If you choose a kinetic damage, you ignore damage of that type equal to your base attack bonus; this doesn’t stack with DR. If you choose an energy type, you gain energy resistance against that type of energy equal to your base attack bonus.

I guess I gotta choose Piercing, because people keep saying I can't get things through my thick skull.

At least Big Grenades market fixing scheme is somewhat weakened, grenades are cheaper now

Will also come in handy when you fail the wild empathy checks to cuddle the cute adorable things with big sharp pointy teeth

They just need more hugs!

Is there any chance of getting a complete summary of changes? I see they updated all the starship combat DCs and without checking each and every one, I presume they also corrected all the other previously announced errata.

But will there be a list of other changes made like what Poit and Milan found above?

Will there be an errata to Armory to bring grenade prices in that book into line with the new prices in the CRB?

Word from Joe Pasini is that all the changes will be added to the FAQ page as soon as they can, but that time for that is hard to find while keeping their products on schedule.

As for which set of rules is the standard for Org Play, there are pros and cons for both methods that the OPF team is currently deliberating on it, and will make an announcement when a decision has been made.

Will players be allowed to change feats such as Enhanced Resistance after this nerfing?

Solarians also got nerfed. Solar armor no longer works with power armor. Not unexpected, but still annoying.

As Landon said, the organized play team is aware of this, but since some people are out of the proverbial office follow Gen Con (which ended just before this dropped), they'll need a little bit of time to get to it.

Stay tuned!

Yes, when they change something you always have the options of swaping it out for a feat you qualify for now or selling it back. Since this isn't really a clockwork gear feat that should cover everything.

I swapped mine out for imp. greater fortitude then picked up a deflective armor reinforcement

Where is the official word that this can be done? Thanks.

Feats: If a feat changes or is removed from the Additional
Resources list, you have two options: you can switch the old feat
for an updated feat of the same name in another legal source
(if available), ignoring any prerequisites of the new feat you do
not meet, or you can replace the feat (and any of the old feat’s
prerequisite feats) entirely with another feat for which you
meet all the prerequisites.

Thanks BNW.

The only problem is that the Enhanced Resistance is not listed on the Additional Resources list that I can find.

I am not sure that we can select a different feat for Enhanced Resistance because it is not listed as being changed on the Additional Resources list.

I have one character who has it I have not taken a new feat because of this.

Edit:
After reading the guide a few more times, I think a comma is missing. I think the beginning of the section is intended to read

"If a feat changes, or is removed from the Additional Resources list, ..."

The comma after "changes" is missing. Having it there would be clearer that a feat change AND feat removal from Additional Resources trigger the free swap out.

Hopefully a comma will be added for better clarity.

Wonder if my "Summon Thurston" spell still works....
