I have to say this Black Whale module is the coolest module in the Agents series. This is overall a great AP. I had stalled out on the last run of Agents in module 4. I was looking forward to running this one and it is living up to how fun it looked to run. Very inventive elements to this module.
I have to say this entire Agents series is one of the best Paizo has ever made. It has some the most unique module elements and inventive enemy design.
I'd almost rate this just behind Kingmaker for an overall unique play experience. Only thing would have made it better is a loot system that fit better with role the Agents play.
I cannot wait for them to fight Reginald Vancaskerkin. That looks like a crazy dungeon.

They made the DC of these crystals to unlock way too high. I have a maxed out Thievery with a Greater Skeleton Key and I haven't been able to unlock a single one without destroying it with six checks required. Basically made it impossible to unlock without destroying.
It'd probably be best to allow other agents to help with Aid, and with the broadness of applicable abilities someone should be able to give a +3 or +4 bonus at that level. DC 40 at around +34 shouldn't be too bad for 6 successes before 3 failures, especially with critical successes counting as 2.

"Ol' Reg may be gone, but he most certainly will not be forgotten. He will always remind us to stay the course, to never give up in the face of continued adversity, and to always strive for better days. We cannot ever falter or give in; for our enemies have shown no less drive to succed in their ignoble endeavors. To Reg!"
*Cermoniously pours out a wine glass filled with ink onto the dirt.*
*Nearby, an absorbent loaf of damp bread shakes with rage in a jar.*
Every time we beat him, we shortened his name in the next encounter. LOL. He hated it SO much!
Everything you said about this module and adventure path is absolutely true. What a blast! I can't wait to finish out 5 and see what 6 has in store for us.

If the PCs don’t know about the assassins, is Grimwold supposed to die with one shot of Alsuna’s garrote bolt? Should I make him roll the Fortitude TS to see how much damage he actually take?
I think this is a cinematic assassination scene, not a combat one, so no rolls necessary. But if you think your players will want to roll dice for it, you can do that.
The orc in the first scene of the previous book dies without rolling in a similar fashion.

Yeah, I forgot about the assassination in book 4. Thanks for the tip!
