Another reason for Owlcat (or anyone else) to stick with PF1 for quite some time is that there is only 1 complete AP for PF2 right now. There is no "best of" set of PF2 APs yet. Kingmaker and WotR are both super well known and liked for different reasons.
AoA doesn't really have that going for it right now. It's good, but as the intro campaign for the entire system, it is pretty safe story- and mechanics-wise.

Also, I think the kind of PC game that would work best with 2e rules is not entirely the kind of PC game that people expect from an adaptation of a tabletop game.
Personally, I maintain that the "ideal" 2e PC game would have turn-based tactical combat in the vein of XCom.

Owlcat has done a PHENOMENAL job with Pathfinder Kingmaker and I have equally high hopes for WotR.
In terms of getting a PF2 game... ehhhhh... I think we need to let the system mature a little bit, let the APG, and maybe a few more "Crunchy" hardcovers drop with more Class, Spell, and Subsystem support before we start pushing them to move to 2E.
I DO think that it would be best handled, perhaps five years or so down the road, by Owlcat as I've truly been blown away by their first offering and I think it makes sense for them to wait to choose their favorite 2E Adventure Path to recreate instead of starting from scratch.

The Owlcat people are HUGE fans of Pathfinder, so I think it will only be a matter of time before they do a 2nd Edition game. It probably will be some years down the road though.

That's what Larian Studios did - and are doing with Baldur's Gate 3 - with their Divinity: Original Sin games. Very good games they are too, though the lack of classes and levels needs some adaptation for a D&D/PF derivative and that's one thing that makes me slightly cautious about BG3.

Well I really hope some good and economical sound company decide to do a good rpg based on pathfinder 2ed and that it is turnbased,
I for one really looking forward to that!
maybe Paizo chould talk to some companies they think would be good and intrested!
If it is a traditional CRPG, instead of a tactics-style game (which I continue to feel would suit 2e better), I think there's absolutely no question that Owlcat is the right company for the job.
They completely knocked it out of the park with Kingmaker. Not only did they release a great (if buggy) game in the first place, but the level of dedication they showed to post-release support was absolutely incredible. They turned a flawed masterpiece at launch into a true masterpiece before moving on to their next game.
And for that next game they look to be getting ready to hit another home run, including things like turning some popular community mods (turn based combat) into core features.
So if it goes the traditional CRPG route, Owlcat 100% of the way. I just personally think that a faithful recreation of 2e's mechanics would not lend itself well to a standard CRPG. :)
