How is the spell Acid splash being used at your table?

I run it with option C.

My party's wizard has used Acid Splash, but only really against swarms (or as a back-up prepared spell against a fire-immune troll).

Yeah, I see no reason not to treat it as if it had the splash trait. With the playtest info, it seems as if it was intended to work that way.

I have and will continue to GM it as such.

I'm going to consider the matter settled for now and will treat the spell as having the Splash trait.
