2e Conversion...?

I am preparing Council of Thieves as my first home campaign in ages (i.e. more than 10 years).

My players are now debating, if it's going to be 1e or 2e for this AP (right now, it's a tie, but before I asked that question another player dropped out and his replacement will trigger the decision).

If it is going to be 2e, I am going to convert everything (Conversion should be faaaaairly easy as it has not too many rules elements on top of the PF1e CRB, but I will also learn as I go along. I have done many conversions from 3.5 to PF1e, most in German, but also some available here [i.e. 0OneGames Road to Revolution Chapter 3-6 with a friend of mine]).

Plus, I am thinking about how I will make this information available for others. One way would be posting it here (either collected in this thread or a conversion thread for each part of the AP and a Bestiary conversion thread), the other would be GoogleDocs and posting a link to the collected information.

Once a decision has been made by my players, I will let you know...

Have you checked out?

I can clean it up for you if that would help. :)

Yes, I have. When it comes to those backgrounds I will definitely take your approach into account.

I will also take a look at other backgrounds (or build new ones), that may also integrate the characters better into the campaign.

One of my players was going to be a wizard and wanted to use illusions and conjurations to work as a stage wizard in the theatre (he had to drop out because of time constraints, before we even started)

Another one is a descendant from a member of the expedition into the Mwangi Expanse and wants to find out more about his ancestor (plus he has an ancient letter by Donatalus Bisby announcing the death of the relative).

I even said that is needed. (The original CoT traits were kind of a let down in that respect. :( )

One thing the conversion would do is give you a chance to provide a bit more "focus" to the AP.

Council of Thieves seems unsure of what it want to be at times. Re-sequencing would help.

Hmmm... I think the best sequence would be 123546, switching The Infernal Syndrom and Mother of Flies around. I have toyed around with that idea, but I would need to provide statblocks for the original sequence, too (or at least give some guidance about how to use statblocks with the original sequnce of Chapters ... or the other way round).

Did anything come of this?

I have a prepared German document with the campaign backgrounds and the first chapter conversion is nearing completion... but... it is in German.

My German translation of the campaign has been published by Ulisses Spiele and it contains small changes to the campaign regarding the initial motivation to join (no more "Down with the House Thrune", but "We are Batman. Let's make this town a better place to live!") and other clarifications (i.e the motivation of Sidonai) and foreshadowings (a picture of the end boss is shown in the dungeon of the first chapter as "The Founder") to make the campaign more cohesive in terms of motivation for the villains and the PC's.

Could I see this? I’d be keen to give it a look.

Danke schoen!

How are you translating the changes in summoning in the adventure?

For example, the whole battle in the Devildrome (What Lies in the Dust, p15) is now impossible as written.

Haven't thought about the Battle in Devildrome yet (I loved the atmosphere in the original adventure).

as for Dinketry: I will need to finish chapter 1 first. I am thinking of making it available via Pathfinder Infinite. (I have a separate translation job, that has a higher prioritiy atm)

The Backgrounds are nearly 1:1 the one's that were posted here elsewhere. I just made some tiny changes to them.
