If a player has the necessary skills but doesn’t hasn’t bought a kit for themselves, can the just borrow the kit from the player who had one?
This came up in game when several players with the Medicine Skill but no Healers Kit wanted to pass around the one kit that the party had. I can’t find any rules about this but it seems against spirit of the rules considering the kit has unlimited uses.

I would rule that multiple people could use the same kit, but not at the same time. If Joe wants to make a treat wounds check using it, then after that Sue wants to use it to make a treat disease check, that is all fine. If both Joe and Sue want to try to do those during the same time period, then they would need two kits.

This sounds a liiitle bit like a video or board game balance way of thinking about the issue, where everyone is only supposed to use their own items.
The kit is just a physical object, it can be handed over to other people and used. Just like you could loan someone a weapon or the monk could give the fighter gold to help him buy an armor.
That doesn't mean there aren't limits:
- You can only benefit from Treat Wounds once per hour, doesn't matter that there are more PCs who have Medicine.
- A medkit can only be used by one person at a time, so if there are multiple patients that neat treatment, you'd want multiple medkits.
- In combat, spending the actions to get the medkit if someone else is carrying it, is rather expensive. Buying your own medkit to save time is really worth it.
