I'm working on prepping a vehicle tagged scenario and I was wondering if anyone had built a handy flow chart for the vehicle rules/ chase mechanic?
I think I've seen one vehicle chase scene played that lasted 3 or four rounds, didn't devolve into just rolling some dice and figuring it out from there.
Some of the other ones are just 20 minutes of set up followed by the chasers double moving, the chasee failing their roll, and the chase ending.

It would be nice to get a Campaign Clarification that it is assumed that you can transport you vehicle, or creature companion...if I am going to spend feats to get a huge creature to ride around on, I don't particularly want it to be dependent on GM fiat.
Yeah, I've been planning out my purchases pretty carefully but I really did go ahead and risk it with the Dropship. A GM is well within their rights to just tell me no I can't bring it, which is an especially rare thing for sanctioned content within OrgPlay lol.

The cargo rules are clearly a bit of a mess (as seen above) so as there is no reason for the GM to have a legit issue with characters bringing their equipment I would assume most GM's would just roll with it. Otherwise I am going to fill their twin cargo bays with hangars that allow me to fit in shuttles with even more space in the TARDIS effect.
Or we just refuse to fly on the provided ships and demand a freighter instead.
I think we can assume the person who wrote the starships isn't a logistician, or used to the idea of the Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU).

Another consideration is that vehicles have dimensions, not just the size. For example, an Armored Transport with a passenger bay (which I own on one character) is 2 adjacent large bases, but its overall size is huge (which normally means 3x3 instead of 2x4. Can you ship two adjacent large bases in a cargo hold? If so, couldn't that fit in a drake or a pegasus?
My GM for 2-00 allowed me to bring it down to the surface for the tier 9-10 final encounter. Our envoy was able to hang out inside the truck (full cover) and use its planetary comm unit to use abilities over the radio to us. It was assumed that the means to see while driving would be an acceptable means to see in combat. Plus the auto-pilot allowed them to stay within 30 feet as needed.
It was actually a lot of fun piling out of the swat van, kicking on the autopilot and having the envoy direct us from within the vehicle like a tactical command station.

And that is just it - more and more people are going to have large/huge vehicles, mounts, companions etc - so these dinky little cargo holds aren't going to cut it.
It seems the sensible thing is just to apply "These size restrictions can be overridden at the GM’s discretion", otherwise the Society needs to launch a new fleet as the current ones are no longer fit for purpose.

Tbh I really just want a Starship boon I can slot for extradimensional storage so we can do things like bringing a vehicle, mount(s), and the Soldiers huge+ power armor too :P

Also, another fun vehicle option is motospheres. 1 pack will provide transport for 8 people (4 drivers with a passenger). When those are expended, put them away and pull out the second pack. I've never encountered a situation where a third one is possible.
On the topic of vehicles, Thursty, can we get the trains from AP6 added to the AR as legal purchases? I really want to build a character who lives in and operates a train parked on Absalom Station. I understand I'll never have a way to get it off the station, and I'm ok with that, but given the lack of player housing options, having my own train would be really cool!

While I'm sad that I had to delay my plan to buy an Assault Enercopter, I have to say that the sanctioning of the Tactical Dropship really made me giddy.
My Ace Operative *cannot wait* to get into a scenario where I can load up the party and punch into orbit.
Also, I have a Drop Pod too. I am super excited about what this can bring to the table for mobility and flexibility.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why the Ultralight Turboglider isn't SFS Legal. Can anyone give me some kinda idea about this? I don't get it. Its a powered hang glider, who cares?
Starfinder scenarios need to account for some/most/ why don't you have a jet pack level 5's breaking the third dimension sometimes, that item gives the entire party all day flight at level 3. A lot of level 1-4s scenarios aren't flight proofed.

Looking at the other precedents the old low level flying options (before we got a lot of flying races) were under a bigger risk for a ban.
That seemed to change once flying became available for a lot of races lv1 (compare limited flight of dragonkins to the full flight a lot of newer races get)

Even then one flying party member is different than a flying party, either in terms of travel or "hey everyone lean out of the sides and shoot the ground dwelling monster while mooning them"

Maybe Starfinder scenario writers need to stop thinking like Pathfinder writers then?
Just putting it out there, but I see a lot of content where they have just tried to put a sci-fi wrapper over Pathfinder design. Flight, vehicles, engagement ranges in the realm of several hundreds of feet etc.
