How to learn languages?

Rules Discussion

Not counting magical means, how can a character learn languages?

All I can find, so far, is starting languages (ancestry), bonus languages from high Int, and the Multilingual skill feat (must be trained in Society). Are there any others?

Muzzy?

Nomadic Halfling Heritage grants 2 directly and a bonus 1 every time you take Multilingual Feat.

Rosetta Stone?

Guess it is tied to the society skill and the multilingual skill feat as you said.

Then it is up to both the society rank and the multilingual feat.

You could take it 1 time and the increase your society rank to get more languages, or you could take the multilingual skill feat more times.

Eventually, both of them.

Scarab Sages

Do you like Gnomes?

You could take Gnome Polyglot to get 3 extra languages plus an extra language each time you take multilingual.

If you're not a gnome, you could gain it through Adopted Ancestry.

As a GM I would also allow regional languages through heritage like Hallit. Again as a GM adding a language to a background also seems fine. Also again GM fiat you could allow a character who is spending downtime learning to gain the language with enough time and successful skill checks.

Thanks, all.

Oh, how about google translate?...

OK, I'm done and will show myself out.

Also note that the "bonus languages from high Int" include the ability score increase that you get every 5 levels, assuming that Int is one of the ability scores that you boost and get a higher mod from.

Yeah, I forgot about that.

Good thing to have multiple way to get them.
