What feats does give +2 AC with weapon and free hand?

Advice

As the subject say I would like to know what feat there is currently in pathfinder 2ed that gives the character a +2 circumstance AC for a action with a weapon and a free hand.

I have found two so far.

DUELING PARRY [one-action] FEAT 2 Fighter

ALDORI PARRY [one-action] FEAT 4 Archtype Aldori Duelist

Is there any other of this kind of feat that you know about?

The Rogues 1st level feat Nimble Dodge gives a reaction that gives +2 AC. It's independent of any weapons and also works with a 1h weapon & hand free.

I think he means the +2 bonus on all attacks.

Using a full shield ac but mantaining a a free hand for athetics checks.

So the one from rogue, which is against 1 single attack, it is different.

correct I mean +2 ac as a shield raised for all attacks

Well, Mountain Stronghold definitely works with hands free. Not with weapon strikes, though.

I'll just say that Dueling Parry and Dueling Riposte are fun. Always great to crit on a foe using a free attack you got because they crit failed their attack against you. :3

Thanks for your input and effort. Mountain stronghold requires mountain stance and as same for the fighter str 14 to get monk multiclass so not really a option either I am sorry to say.

The problem I have in this build is that I rather dont go
fighter or monk multiclass because that would need str 14 something I rather not do since I am going thief all dex to hit and damage.

I could use a normal shield for the +2 AC but I would rather have a parry +2 ac effect since I would like to have one hand free for other purposes.
And since I dont have shield block I might as well have parry rather than shield.

I can go duelist but that require me to use two general feats into it to meet the prerquisite and it would make me obtain parry either at lv8 or lv10 somewhat late depending on race.

So any other good idea how to get a kind of parry effect +2 AC with free hand?
If there is any?

Thanks

That seems to be all of them at this time.

Is there any spell focus or cantrips that would give +2 AC?
I have found +1 shield like shield and bard inspire defense but not any that does +2 AC.

There seems to be a deliberate reason for this
If there was a way of doing this then you would quickly get lots of people simply not considering shields an option - regardless of shield block

So nimble dodge and shield cantrip is the best you have . I am not sure if they stack but I think they do

Divine Aura is +2 status, against a certain alignment
Wild Winds Stance (monk) gives +2 circumstance against ranged attacks.
Different shape shifting might add some, but it might lower it too.
Prone is +4 circumstance against ranged attacks (with other penalties).
Take Cover is +2/4 if you have cover.
-Blade Barrier and Wall of Thorns provides cover.

Great thanks for your input. Guess its a str 14 build then and Rogue/Fighter build :-)

A 14 str build won't be deep into athletics, so maybe you should consider using a shield and the fighter reaction to raise it ( eventually, sentry dedication in order to have it since lvl 2 instead of 4,and to have a boost to athletics and an extra expert skill)

Unless you wan't to make athetics checks with a -2 because of low str.

You will also have 1 free action per turn, instead of using everytime an action to raise your hand.

Yes that fighter reaction is nice but it only triggers against melee attack now so not always you get it, but I will look into that, might very well be a better option along with shield block as well. You cant use that with parry. Parry only gives +2 AC.

Sentry dedication is something I have missed.
Found it, the lastwall sentry. hmm need to have shieldblock first thats a issue. I will have to look into that.

I usally dont need too make many athletics roll, is there something specifik you had in mind regarding atletic?

Thanks for your input :-)

Let's say that the game sees 2 possibilities

- 2 hand weapon or weapon+shied or dualwielding

You will be able to use athletics but only for the traits the weapons have.

For an instance, a duelist with shield and a rapire will be able only to use the disarm athetics move.

- 1 hand weapon and free hand ( eventually buckler ) you will be able to perform any athetics check because of the free hand.

Which includes

Shove
Trip
Disarm
Grapple

Regardless the weapon you are using.

This is quite nice.
Remember also that even if the duelist parry requires you to have a free hand.3 you block the attacks with your arme weapon. So you will still be able to perform a athetics checks.

This doesn’t mean you will be always using them, but it is a possibility.

To make an example.

As lvl 6 you could have both dueling parry and combat grab.

You start with your first action as attack, to land a furtive one, then you can move on with combat grab which have the press trait, landing a second strike which allows you to grap the opponent for free if it hits.

Obviously you will trade then the armor possibility for that round, but you could save yourself with the rogue reaction for one attack.

Ps: grabbing an enemy could be useful to let your wizard escape, or simply to prevent the enemy from Fleming.

It is definitely fun to check what fighter feats + athetics could offer.

Eventually even the lounge attack could be nice, instead of movie you could attack somebody a square more far from you.

I currently play a champion with shield + spiked glove, for the free hand and the agile trait. I am able to shove enemies or grab them depends the situation, and I also have my guard up because of shield. Eventually i can defend myself with shield block or a friend with champion reaction.

Well put and intresting thoughts. This make it even more intresting with a free hand.
