Fuse stance monk feat

Rules Discussion

Hi, i have a doubt about the Fuse stance monk feat. It states that the monk can fuse 2 different stances into one, but they cannot do so if they have fundamentally incompatible requirements or restrictions, and uses Crane stance and Ironblood stance as an example. Does this mean that i can fuse all the stance that say "you can use this special unarmed attack", but not the ones that say ""you can use only this special unarmed attack"?

Like crane stance? That's not a requirement to be in the stance, just an effect of being in the stance.

It calls out crane stance and ironblood stance because BOTH have a requirement that you only use a specific unarmed strike, making them incompatible

Ah, I misread that and only reason "requirements" not "requirements and restrictions "

I think this example confuses things since Ironblood Stance does not say "you can only make a specific unarmed strike".

Either:

1. Ironblood Stance is supposed to say "you can only make X unarmed strike"; in which case the example text of Fuse Stance is correct.
2. Or Ironblood Stance is correct in not requiring a specific strike; in which case the example text of Fuse Stance is incorrect (and Crane Stance and Ironblood Stance could be combined and would require making only crane wing attacks).

If you fuse Wolf and Dragon, you can make either wolf jaw or dragon tail attacks. If you fuse Wolf and Mountain, you can only make falling stone attacks. One can't fuse Mountain and Crane Stance, since they exclude each other.

At issue is which is correct- the text of ironblood stance, which says you can make iron sweep attacks, or fuse stance which implies ironblood is like crane stance in having an "the only unarmed attacks you can make are" clause.

My "before errata or official confirmation" instinct would be to treat ironblood as non-exclusive, since the thing that suggests it is not comes 12 levels later. I feel like breaking ties should go to the text of the feat itself, not a different feat entirely. Plus, fusing Mountain and Ironblood stance seems thematic.
