So I made a little dinner for me my friends and my SO's sister. I used about 1/4 a teaspoon of cloves and now that is all I can smell.

I like it. It kind of reminds me of a well preserved zombie that drowned. I'm not sure why she is shushing me but I feel it is not for something good.
I was looking through these and the one with the red background and the real dark eyes is super creepy. If I owned that picture I could not have it hung up somewhere where I would see it while I got up to go to the bathroom or I wouldn't make it.

Heh. I should hang him in the guest bathroom. Heh heh heh... *cackles without stopping*

Yeah but then you'll have a mess to clean up.

That does seem to be the key objection to most of my shenanigans...

Oh...I misread that at first...cloves. Definitely cloves. That's incredibly different from clowns.

But it would explain why it tasted funny.

Yes... cloves... definitely cloves and not clowns...

Ok no that was funny. This is not even the usual sarcastic use of this alias.

So yesterday we were talking about what was the proper waiting time if ones spouse passes before one can date again. Which worked it way to being the proper mourning time. So eventually we got to Even if the means of death were hilarious it would still be inappropriate to laugh. So the scenario we came up with was being run off the road by a clown car. At this point my mind could not stop this train of thought so basically it went like.

So you see the clown car and it spooks you off the side of the road. So the clowns of course pull over to offer assistance. 20 Clowns get out of the car 1 by 1. A doctor clown gets out to help. as the clowns run around all panicked they run into each other and knock each other out. The doctor clown with a stethoscope inspects one of the other clowns calls in two nurse clowns to carry him back into the car all the clowns load up and drive off in a miniature ambulance sirens blazing.

You forgot the firefighter clowns who will show up and douse you with a bucket of glitter just in case you are on fire.

gran you ever have people call you on night shift to try and get you to do something they have already been told we couldn't do by 1st or 2nd shift?

Have you seen the Reno 911 episode with the clown car tragedy?

I have not but now I will be trying to find it.

I’ve searched for a long time and can’t find that clip—if you see it somewhere, let me know. It made me laugh until I cried. Even describing it to people, I break down and can’t talk. Funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen.

I will report back if I complete this sacred quest.

The trick to a good night's sleep is training yourself. If you go to bed then stay up playing with your phone for an hour that will be part of your ritual so your body will expect that every time if you do it often enough. So if you train yourself that when your laying down in bed your their to fall asleep eventually that is how it goes. You know providing you don't have like some sort of sleeping disorder or something similar.

Well the last time we were walking 20-30k steps in Taiwan he had no problems sleeping early. Get physically tired enough and you can sleep.

Oh yeah. Especially the ones who have been there for a few days and have asked everyone on staff multiple times about it and been told "No" every time. Including by management.

Manager said no! it's above me now man... Anything like that now I just tell them to call back in the morning and talk to someone at a reasonable human hour. Why call in the middle of the night for billing issues anyways?

Just completed Ascension 15 with Silent.

So thats iron and silent at 15?

Yep. And Defect through 14.

getting defect 15 next?

Thinking about it. I'll probably try for a bit, and if I start getting pissed off, I'll switch to something else.

Hi, everyone!

Hey John! long time no read.

Spent a lot of time watching educational videos on Youtube.

Oh nice. I had a few days of then awhile back I got into a series of animated astrophysics videos. I can't remember the name of the series atm however.

Were they "What da Math," by Anton Petrov?

They were not but I'm gonna sub that and see if I find it interesting. I used to watch them at work but they did something to the computers and now youtube videos have a hard time loading.

Its just certain people. We have it in IT as well. People calling for some thing (like access to files), and told no, but they just try again and again.

Yeah just people trying to get around the system. had someone the other night talk my ear off trying to convince me to reverse a charge (which I couldn't do in the first place and I told him that). I told him I would asks my manager etc. She told me she had already talked to the guy and told him no. Got me real irritated.

We've got a specific person that seeks out the newest IT members and tries to get the newbie to give her local admin access to her laptop.

Well that's not my fault for him being a couch potato and claiming he exercised enough(walking around at work). I just wanted to prove a point, that he didn't =) The views were awesome, though. And I spent last Sat trying to learn archery. At least I managed to draw the bow, get arrows flying in the right direction though aiming was... Iffy.

I feel like your level of activity from 2 years ago to now is night and day. (is it 2 now?)

The Exchange

About 1 year. Even my fat unfit self wouldn't have problems doing 20-30k steps per day since as long as I get to pick the pace I walk at, I've always been a jolly walker. Though there would have been complaints, "Why does it have to be stairs."

I'd change her desktop background, then restrict her rights so she couldnt change it.

Maybe I should make rendang this weekend in the slow cooker

rendang?

The Exchange

This is Rendang. I like Rendang too, but all that coconut milk makes it rather calorific.

I think stronger flavored meats like mutton or beef are best for Rendang.

Hmm looks like something I would eat.

The Exchange

Also. Too much coconut milk gives me a stomachache so I have good incentive to watch my intake.

Yeah I prefer curries without the coconut milk.

Scarab Sages

I tend to make it with coconut fat, to reduce the cooking time. Long cook time is good for the meat of course, but cooking untill the milk is nearly evaporated takes aaaaaaaaaaaaaages.
Substituting with coconut fat reduces the cook time and is delicious.
Also, rendang is heavily spiced so the coconut flavor is a lot less pronounced.

Yea I think I've made something similar without knowing it. Basically what you said cooking down the coconut milk till it evaporated. IT was good but incredibly potent.
