Have you read:

Scott Lynch's 'Gentleman Bastards' series (Lies of Locke Lamora, etc)
Any of Pierre Prevel's books?
Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos/Phoenix Guards novels?
Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd & The Grey Mouser books?

Pass the recipe? I'm not particularly fond of mustard, though.

This is pretty close to what I use

I usually do more garlic and add pepper.

Do you want a big, fat doorstop of a book or a slim, pocketsize volume?

Do you want classic or contemporary?

How fond are you of gritty grimdark?

Love in the Time of Cholera?

I love grimdark.

And I like my books like I like my women, long and rambling.

Read this.

I, Guy FaWtL, do most solemnly swear that I am up to no good. :D

The Exchange

I haven't done any reading of books for a long time. I know I wanted to get the book "Sarting Strength" by Mark Rippetoe but it was borrowed out in the library.

I'm fine with doorstops as long as the pacing is good. I guess contemporary but I'm down with classic settings when done well.

As far as grimdark goes I have read a ton of warhammer novels so I have seen some grimdark.

I love it when someone comes in parked unloads all their stuff comes in without a reservation at 11:30 at night then finds out we are sold out. I get so much dark amusement from that.

Hmm I was always a fan of Gundam wing.

Those are great. "Why didn't you say that before I took everything out of my car!?" Why didn't you check if there were any rooms before you unloaded everything?

Yeah and you know it's not like I know for sure they don't have a room it's possible they did an online check-in or they checked in earlier and are just now unloading their stuff.

I feel like he's said that Wing isn't "true Gundam". Whatever that means.

Personally, I liked Wing.

Freehold's taste in nerd culture all seem just slightly off.

ITt's kind of like saying I love Kiss but my favorite member is Peter Criss. or if you asked him Metallica or Megadeth he would go with Megadeth. or like his favorite highlander movie is the second one.

These are actually kind of fun analogies.

Prefers the second speed movie
Favorite batman was George Clooney (but lets be real that one is just unrealistic)
Like the new Ghost busters better then the old (I think that one might be impossible)

Don't listen to Kiss, Metallica, or Megadeath. Highlander 2 was cheesy fun. Speed 2 I don't really remember. Adam West is best Batman. Haven't seen newest Ghostbusters movie.

The game is coming up with something most people like then finding a version that most people didn't like. or just didn't compare to the other.
So like D&D but like 4th edition.

Caddyshack 2 over the original. Mad Max over any of the sequels. Star Wars prequels over the original trilogy. Original trilogy "Special Editions" over the theatrical releases.

GJ now you you got it. I forgot that Caddyshack 2 was even a thing. Yeah Mad max got weird.

Don't worry We don't actually believe you could be that much of a monster.

Mobile Suit Gundam comes from the hand of Yoshiuki Tomino-osensei. He single handedly invented the real side giant robot genre. To say that he is akin to Peter Criss is beyond wrong.

No no that wasn't the comparison I was making. I was just saying it's like that phenomenon when someone at first seems to have the same taste as you but then you find out it what should be a slight difference but seems larger. so like a Kiss fan who is big on Criss. Not that Yoshiuki Tomino-osensei is the Peter Criss of Gundam.

I wasnt old enough/did not have cable/lived in a place without movie theater, so the original ghost busters doesnt have the nostalgia thing for me.

I loved the all female remake. Holtzman <3

Yeah one of mine is I prefer full metal alchemist original over FMA brotherhood.

ahhhh...okay.

Don't mind me. Just wandering from place to place during the second half ( separated from the first by five hours ) of a double shift.

Yuck. double shift. You can tell them I said "BOO"

OH I finally remembered the best example. The SNL Wheezer sketch with Matt Damon. Two people that are both wheezer fans but have different favorite types and everyone else is just ragging on them but they are more offended by the people that like them but like the wrong album.

Well, that took a long time, but I just beat Ascension 16 with Defect. Now to try it with Silent.

I need them to hurry up and add the new character.

That would be nice. Although, if you are in a big hurry, I think you can get the beta build with it. Of course, it will be a beta so there might be issues with it.

I'm never one for trying beta's. It's never appealed to me.

Agreed. I'm strictly an Alpha Male.

lol. wait is that right? is Alpha the one we get or wouldn't it count down and be Gamma? I thought Alpha testing was like the designers testing it.

If you're an Alpha Male like me, you can get anything you want.

Only if Monkey Santa doesn't want it.

Monkey Santa outranks the king, you know.

No one outranks the Alpha King.

I can't believe that show was cancelled on a cliff hanger so bitter about that. (Alphas.)

Never watched it. Do vaguely recall it being mentioned on an episode of Big Bang Theory. I think Sheldon tracked down the creator and forced him to tell him what the resolution would have been.

Well now I have to find that episode of Big Bang Theory....

A quick Googling suggests Season 6 Episode 21.

I must know!
