We don't want to gain weight. It's bad for your joints and all, not to mention fitting into stuff.

That is filling out stuff.

Which is a subset of fitting into stuff.

Yeah, my company booked me into a Marriott of the Courtyard variety on my Virginia trip last week. Usually it's of the Spring Hill Suites variety, two more exits down the interstate, and closer to the office.

There's by no means anything wrong with the place from a customer's perspective, but it wasn't worth $154/night either, at least to me. That price is starting into decent bed and breakfast territory around here.

From what I understand most hotels prices have jumped up this last year. That does seem high but if it was a busy week it wouldn't surprise me. For the event weeks our prices can double. Hotels pretty well charge what the most that they think you will pay is. IF they know someone will pay 1000 for a room that is what they will charge them.

Courtyards tend to be more expensive because they assume that most guests are business travelers staying on a corporate credit card, and thus don't really care about the price.

Exactly. People ask me sometimes "How do you get away with charging $XXX for a room here?" and the answer is "Because you'll pay it." If people stopped paying that much, the hotels would have to lower the rates. But if we can sell out the hotel while charging $500 per night (which we do during graduation), then why would we charge less?

The strategy is to have the rate be high enough so that not everyone will want a room. The perfect situation for them is the rate being high enough that they just barely sell that last room.

Too much weight is bad for your joints, stretching or not. I swear they're trying to push me to do a split with the rock positioning on the bouldering wall ><

Trying to do V1-V2s. Didn't get to the end of any routes but there was plenty of screaming as I fell off the wall. Like "Waaaaah!" and "Arrgggghhhh!"

I remember that post now too. I think I was distracted at the time. You did kind of sneak it in the middle of the paragraph and I feel like information like that deserves it's own paragraph. Also I don't know what a solemnization is.

I had forgotten about that interview. It went so badly. People always wanting to do those things at normal human hours!

You have a real talent for making something sounds simple and absurd at the same time I want you to know that. And I've been reading disc world lately so my tolerance for the absurd is at a all time high.

In the context of marriage, solemnization refers to the performance of a ceremony. Some jurisdictions in the United States may require solemnization in addition to a marriage license for there to be a legally valid marriage.

Oh so it's just the ceremony. Never heard it called that.

That was Taiwan lol. Do you know how hard it is to go around Asia in the monsoon season? Its wet all around and flying to Europe and States is expensive!

Ever get congratulated for doing a regular, normal part of your job and it makes you feel kind of sick? That's how I'm feeling right now. The manager left a note for the desk congratulating us on how we've collected over $24,000 in cancellation fees so far this year. I know that cancellation fees are a standard practice and all, but something about being given a (metaphorical) pat on the back for collecting them makes it feel wrong.

My husband claimed his mind was too active at night and couldn't sleep, so I told him if I caught him playing games on a weekday past 1 am, it means he has too much energy and needs to do 100 burpees with me.

The Exchange

His friends were so horrified by the threat that they chased him to bed lol. That was... Amusing, heh. And yes, I am willing and capable of doing 100 burpees. Doing at 20 per set taking a min break between sets I did it in 10 min 25 secs.

I can't do burpees continuously, though. But I can use burpees practice because I want to do Spartan sprint so for each obstacle I fail it's 30 burpees. Better make sure they're on point.

I do not but since your making a point of it I have to assume either really hard or really easy.

Most of the big business corporations have very low expectations of workers. I had a friend who worked at Walmart and he would do his job for about 4 hours then hid for the rest of his shift and took a nap or play on a game boy. He got so many people congratulating and complimenting on how great a job he was doing. He couldn't believe it. He said he could half again how much work he was doing and he would just be with everyone else.

I feel like doing exercise right before bed would just keep me up more unless it was to the point that I was ready to pass out.

The trick to a good night's sleep is training yourself. If you go to bed then stay up playing with your phone for an hour that will be part of your ritual so your body will expect that every time if you do it often enough. So if you train yourself that when your laying down in bed your their to fall asleep eventually that is how it goes. You know providing you don't have like some sort of sleeping disorder or something similar.

I was looking through these and the one with the red background and the real dark eyes is super creepy. If I owned that picture I could not have it hung up somewhere where I would see it while I got up to go to the bathroom or I wouldn't make it.
