Do barathu have multiple biological sexes? Or is their sex mutable? Do they have a sex at all? Are they asexual creatures that reproduce through budding?
I can't seem to find any information at all on the biological reproduction of these floaters (which seems odd considering how much focus this subject gets with some other races get).

A collective uses their Rewrite Genetic Code power to build a designer-genes baby. All of the participants count as parents, but I doubt the experience is really "sexy".
I'd say they don't have a sex but also count as "mutable": they can use their Adjust Shape power to create body parts as needed.
Liavarans don't form collective consciousnesses, so maybe a single barathu can bud asexually.
Lest you feel sorry for them for not knowing the joys of sex as other creatures do, even early-stage barathu should be able to Adjust Chemistry to self-medicate with mind-altering drugs every 1d4 rounds.
Alien Archive 2 says the maximum age for an early stage barathu is 500+3d% years. Is that when an adult barathu dies of old age, or is it the age when the young barathu finally becomes an adult?

I mostly just want know what to write on the character sheet.
I don't want to say Male barathu if they don't have a sex. Instead, as with androids I might instead say "masculine personality barathu," "asexual barathu," or something similar.

As they are not "mature", early-stage barathu also may be too young to reproduce. They may all be emancipated minors - legally adult, but biologically children.
If that's the case, then that would be nice to know too, wouldn't it?
Not knowing something as intrinsic as sex and/or gender leaves a big gaping hole in one's ability to make a character concept.

I mean, if it isn't in the books, then either:
This is information either unknown, not well known, or not generally known by the Starfinder population, in game. So, given that it doesn't impact anything besides roleplay, you can (and should!) make it up.
or
This is information that Paizo didn't think of, or did think of and didn't care if we knew or dropped it for something more important in a book. In that case, it doesn't seem to impact anything besides roleplay, so you can (and should!) make it up.

Given the way Barathu are described, in both society and biology, I really have a hard time imagining them having sexes. Reproducing sexually, yes, but sexual reproduction does *not* actually require multiple sexes, not for micro-organisms, and that is what they most closely resemble. So, I'd simply label them "N/A". Barathu have one sex, 'Barathu', and can reproduce with any other Barathu ( or multiple others, or none ).
Now, you could have gender without sexual dimorphism, but I can't see the Barathu having anything like gender resembling most other species. If they do have gender variations, its probably unrecognizable to humanoid life. Individual Barathu might well affect a certain gender when interacting with humanoids, but this would be case by case ( as would the degree it represents deeper personality characteristics vs a convenient means of communication ).
