By taking Eldritich HEritage (Arcane) I can get a Familiar, can I select a School Familiar, even though my character does not have an arcane school?

School familiars require a separate feat (or archetype) to obtain; d20pfsrd doesn't do a good job of getting that particular information across (for years now it has been perhaps my #1 example of something d20pfsrd displays in a way that's particularly misleading).

So I can take an Illusion School Bat even though my character doesn't belong to the Illusion School
And that Archetype still fits with Improved Familiar
If you meet the prerequisites of the feat, which are "Familiar effective level 5th, specialized arcane school class feature." and then take the feat, you're good to go with the school familiar archetype.
