No worries. My healing is gonna be mostly passive, y'all can heal yourself type healing, and then I'll be supporting via maneuvers both through you and whoever else I've got entitled. I do plan to take Striking Mirage as a feat, to have a little bit more interesting tactical options, and a way to say "alright, this is what I want to do, and I don't need you to cooperate for me to do it."

To make sure im looking at it right, as a free action on my turn we use all your movement and stuff, and i could still attack again, or make spells ready right?
Not quite. On your turn, you've got a sweet weapon in your hands, and take your turn normally, though you do get to use my Combat/Magic Talents if you want to, since I'm at least a third level Spirit Blade. On my turn, I can use your body with my actions to make attacks, though as written it looks like I'm unable to move using your body, which is honestly fine. I'll just have to find something to use my move actions for. Or not, it's probably not gonna be insanely important. Or... I may be able to, maybe, move as part of a maneuver using that move action. I'll have to see about maybe Veiled moon and teleporting you using that, though that's honestly kinda low on my priority list. For that matter, the Warp Handbook playtest just came out, I may not be investing in Life after all.
Basically, you use your body for your turn, I use your body for my turn, but only you can actually move.
Edit: Unless I fully possess you, in which case I can use your body to move, but you lose all actions. I don't plan to do so, especially in combat, but it is a technical possibility.

I'm gonna end up ignoring a decent portion of the wealth replacement too now that I think about it lol. I don't need to attune to a weapon, I don't need to attune to armor, I'm mostly gonna be worried about the actual stat boni, which will go towards Dexterity and Charisma for phys/mental, and then the rest kinda just doesn't matter too much. Deflection and natural armor bonuses don't affect anything really since i'll be Sundered, if anything.
With your stats, i'm not super sure why you took weapon finesse to begin with, but you may consider taking Polearm Dancer instead, given it doesn't apply the ACP of equipped shields to your attack rolls with the weapon in question. If you can fit the rank of perform in, that is. I just figure it's a little more forgiving for what we're trying to accomplish here. :)
Edit: actually, now that I take a second look, i'm not altogether sure where your ability scores came fein, to be honest. I dunno if I'm just doing point buy wrong or what.
I'm going to work on this more in-depth tonight, I should be able to get a good bit of it done.
| fatmanspencer |
I rolled the stats, and called it even. I almost did point buy but ehhh, I may change to point buy, but I liked the rolls. I took weapon finesse since its one of those free feats that the feat system we are using does, so I added it to give the bonus so I didnt have to remember it. I like polearm dancer though, so I will switch out improved init for it

Oh. I didn't see the Elephant in the Room feat taxes mentioned, I didn't realize. Probably just something I missed altogether.
5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 3, 6) = 26 18
5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 2, 2) = 16 12
5d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 4, 1) = 11 9
5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 6, 4) = 24 16
5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 3, 6) = 19 14
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 4, 2) = 22 16
Hrmmm... if it weren't for that 9... I'd be all about it. Actually, I don't need Strength for anything whatsoever. Yeah this sounds pretty solid. 20 Cha, 16 Con/Dex, 14 Wis, 12 int, 9 str should be quite good for me, with the racial boost.

I'm getting things finished up between breaks and lunches, and will be working more as I get off work. I've made the majority of the "decisions" i need to, as of now, it's just a matter of getting everything put together in a coherent form. I plan on being fairly tame in combat to be honest, mostly letting my wielder handle things, but i'll have a few tricks up my non-existent sleeves, too.

Ohhhh, it's not specifically Elephant in the Room, gotcha. Just looked at the proper campaign page, didn't realize there were any additional rules for character creation than what's on the post in this thread itself. I'll make the adjustments as I get to them. :)
Edit: Looking over it, it is the same changes, plus a couple extra. Should be nice and simple to work with.

Okay, I'll write some more, but here's the basic fluff I'm imagining, feel free to contribute:
The spirit blade is an artifact of the Green Age, and was the property of the High Templar Ahmun Ahnpur of Kalidnay. It was a relic of the early days of the Green Age, a relic created by the dwarves who used to live in the Diamond Mines, and were students of the rhulisti/halflings.
My version of Athas really emphasizes the planetary adventures/science fiction angle, including the halfling biotechnology. I've connected this with Alternity lore, which makes psionics and magic the products of ancient alien technology. If you're familiar with Alternity lore, you'll know that there were two powerful precursor races called the Glassmakers and Stoneburners, who were basically equivalent to the Vorlons and Shadows from Babylon 5. These races are responsible for seeding the galaxy with magic and psionics. The spirit blade is partially a Glassmaker relic, or has components which are ancient Glassmaker technology.
The High Templar obtained the weapon when the forces of Kalid-Ma conquered the city of Kalidnay during the Green Age and raided the by then abandoned ruins of the diamond mine, which had been assaulted by Stoneburner horrors centuries beforehand. The blade was recovered from a mysterious site known as the 'Arie', which is an invisible fortress that extends from the side of the mountain (it's a Glassmaker spaceship). Though the blade was originally recovered by the servants of the High Templar Khnum Khamunkhephres, the relic was stolen by the servants of Ahmnur Ahnpur, an event which began a covert conflict between the two of the five High Templars of Kalid-Ma. Khnum-Khamunkhephres was a master nethermancer and geomancer, and Amnun Ahnpur was renowned as a summoner and beastmaster who bred exotic mounts and war beasts for Kalid-Ma.
During the fall of the city, the blade was placed in the tomb of Ahmun-Ahnpur, which lies beneath his vast fortress, the Scarab Hold, in on the shores of the Lake of Doom. It lies beneath the central keep known as the Spires of Apep.
The shamen's elf tribe periodically ventures into the ruins of 'Elder Kalidnay' to forage and seek for treasure. On one of these expeditions, the sword was recovered from the dungeons of the Scarab Hold. This site has recently been occupied by some new force, and the ruins have become alive with strange creatures summoned by the extradimensional gates which exist in throughout the city.

That sounds pretty reasonable. Did you want to talk over any like, weapon properties or whatever for being Green Age-era Tech instead of going with the 3 feats you mentioned or a template? That might be a little bit more interesting, and to be honest, i'm already struggling to spend the 7 feats i've got as-is.
I think between Striking Mirage and some of the Maneuvers i'm going to be taking, there should be some interesting interactions, even barring the addition of Title Veils to our team.

7 feats doesn't go as far as it seemed like it would, I was able to fill them pretty easily. That said, I still like the idea of boosting something weapon related, though I can pretty easily just use the three feats to boost spellcasting or something.
I'm currently looking to be a bit of a beacon for Healing and minor buffing/debuffing depending on the exact situation. If you'd rather I just take those feats, i'll probably spend them on another totem or two, and try to find a way to sustain more totems in general.

I'm not clear if the living weapon is done yet, I'll wait for confirmation on that before I post you guys in --
This is the current situation -- the elf shaman became separated from a reconnaissance mission of her tribe in the ruins exploring the Scarab Hold, the massive fortress of the Templar Ahmun Ahnpur which straddles the shores of the Lake of Doom, and contains the Three Gates of the Night, a set of weird necropoli that grant access to the massive underworks beneath the city.
While exploring the Scarab Hold, the elves came into conflict with strange party of jackle-headed humanoids led by a red-haired giantess who traveled through the ruins via a hot air balloon.
Your character fled and accidentally uncovered a fissure that led to the vast underdark beneath the city, where she eventually emerged within a strange tomb like structure. Her further explorations have led her to the room in which the rest of the party is currently located.

I'm really sorry, i fell asleep last night after planning for my anniversary today (four years).Just been generally hectic. I'm not going to be doing anything until I've at least got workable stats, even if it's not a full stat block. Currently, I've got to pick skills, I've got one maneuver left, and one feat to finalize, and that's it. I'll post everything i've got in a spoiler log for that and make a profile.

Like i said, not pretty at all, haven't moved it to a stat block yet. Fatmanspencer: get back to me whenever regarding weapon/shield abilities you'd like access to, as well as which Title Veils you'd like me to shape on you. Keep in mind, max essence invested at this level is 1, I've got up to 3 shaped, and one bind effect that you can get.
Edit: I've realized i don't have mythic in there either, but that will be a pretty simple process, i won't be getting anything outrageous. Just don't have the attention span to get it done tonight other than that I can tell you i'm going Marshal.

They're changeable, but they take about 8 hours to do so, not on the fly. Since I'll be providing pretty significant healing on hit, I was actually considering Vicious, which can be split between lethal and nonlethal using Endure Pain and the Guardian delayed damage pool, and then healed up at twice the rate it's inflicted.

Alright, i've got everything finalized. I realized i had nothing to spend Mythic Feats on, really, so i just got extra talents.
For the extra talents, I'd like to take Diga Drill, from this document, which is part of the tech sphere playtest for Spheres of Might, if that's alright with you. I've taken Extra Mythic Feat as my Tier 2 path ability, from Universal, and taken Extra Combat Talent to pick up Unstoppable, from the Brute Sphere, as well as Drop (Manhandle) with the tier 3 feat. I do plan to take Mythic Vital Strike, with a feat moving forward, but til then, i don't have anything particularly interesting to spend them on. I'm now officially finished with the character, and I'll be drafting up a profile tonight.
Interestingly, Unstoppable actually allows me to move you, and when combined with Diga Breaker, should be reasonably good at breaking through obstacles.
Sebecloki, if that talent isn't alright, i'll figure something else out, but i thought it would be an interesting choice, together with Unstoppable, for positioning.
My path abilities are Commune with Power, probably with my former wielder, extra mythic feat as mentioned, and healing surge.
| Saris, Legacy of the Fallen |
I now have a stat block on the profile, and I realized I had left off a few mythic changes initially. Just by being near people, I now have them heal 14 damage (+1d6 if they're adjacent) when they hit an enemy, plus another 5 if I have Giving Totem up. Combined with the Delayed Damage Pool that both fatmanspencer and I have due to my giving him all of my spheres when wielded, plus converting delayed damage to nonlethal, and my being able to cast Shield Other 3/day (with Hardness 14 backing that up, no less) the two of us will be incredibly resilient, and the resilience of our other allies will no doubt be increased significantly with the effectively passive healing. I also have a little bit of active healing for emergencies, but I'm nowhere near as worried about that as I initially was.
