Can I get an opinion here? I have a Nuar Solarian specializing on charging. Specifically using Stellar Rush.

Now the rules for Stellar Rush state:

Quote:
As a standard action, you can wreathe yourself in stellar fire and make a charge without the penalties

Nuar have an ability called Gore which states:

Quote:
A nuar can charge without taking the normal charge penalties to the attack roll or its AC. If the nuar has another ability that allows it to charge without taking these penalties (such as the charge attack ability from the soldier’s blitz attack fighting style), the nuar also gains the ability to charge through difficult terrain.

So good combo. Not only can you charge for a standard action without penalties but you can do it over difficult terrain.

My question is: would they still have to deal with the movement penalty for difficult terrain?

Quote:
Difficult terrain, such as heavy undergrowth, piles of junk, or steep stairs, hampers movement. Each move into a square of difficult terrain counts as 2 squares of movement. Each diagonal move into a difficult terrain square counts as 3 squares

The Gore doesn't say you ignore difficult terrain like say Nimble Moves

Quote:
You can move through up to 20 feet of difficult terrain each round as if it were normal terrain. This feat allows you to take a guarded step into difficult terrain

I'm leaning toward you still have to use 10' to move 5'. What are your thoughts?

My money is on difficult terrain still impeding your movement speed, it just no longer makes a charge invalid.

It sounds like yes, since the ability to do it and the ability to ignore it aren't the same (the ability to ignore it would imply the ability to do it but not vice versa)

There is where I'm going. The guy is already OP. Started out as Blitz Soldier for +10' movement. Nuars already have 40'. It's so easy to add more speed with Feats - Fleet , Cybernetics - Speed Suspension, & Upgrades - Mobility enhancers that having to 1/2 your move through difficult terrain is good enough.

You would still take the speed penalty, but you would be able to make the charge at all. Unlike the normal situation where difficult terrain would prevent you from charging.

Watch the type on those I think the mobility enhancers speed suspensions the aeon stone etc are all enhancement bonuses

I'm pretty sure the Mobility Enchancer upgrade just reduces the speed penalty for heavy armor, so shouldn't be a problem.
