Disfunctional party advice

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

My group has been playing rise of the runelords for a few months now and theres been several changes in the party as weve progressed. Weve added members, changed GMs, and had two permadeaths. The most recent of those deaths has had a huge impact on the party. This character was more or less the glue that held the party together. Now that hes no longer there the party has no reason to stay together, and that not the only reason were falling apart. None of us trust each other and my character has been involved in a lot of party conflict. Her backstory involves her havingcriminal connections to the npc that sent us on the sidequest that killed the last pc. The party is asking her to give them info on him that she doesnt want to give them for what should be obvious reasons, besides the fact that one of our members is a paladin. Throw in a few failed insanity rolls, several acusations being thrown around about the pcs death, back handed insults, and the stress of having to prove ourinnocence because the town were thinks were causing the murders happening in town and youve got a mess of a party. Weve all agreed were going to try and fix this however most fingers are poimted at me as my character is involved in most conflict in some way or another. I have a plan to fix my character but that will take time as it involves her doing more or less a 360 change. Id love some advice on what we can do to come together as a party. Feel free to ask me any questions. Our campaign is rise of the runelords mixed with alot of homebrew. Our party co sists of a tiefling pyrokineticist(my character) a half orc paladin, an elf rougue, and a wyveran multiclassex character(i cant remember them all, i do know theres druid in there) (this is the replacement for the pc that died and is new to the party) theres also a lizard folk magus who is our GMs character(he was playing until we swaped GMs so we involve his character from time to time)

I have been roleplaying since 1979, yes I am ancient, and I learned very early that inter party conflict tends to spoil the game for all involved.

It sounds like your group has gone rather far down a path and it is going to be a bit hard to turn things around.

Best suggestion I can come up with is all have a discussion as players about the conflicts between the PCs and how to manage it and get it down to manageable levels. It might not work.

Try to involve the other players/characters in your conversion. Your salvation will help build unity and common cause. Your enlightenment can be a party victory.

Have an out of character discussion about it. Does the rest of the group want to play through a trust/redemption arc for your character? Do they enjoy the inter party conflict? (Some people are really against it).
Asking strangers for advice is great, but anything we suggest pales in comparison to asking the people involved what they want to do about it.

"180, you stupid spaghetti-slurping cretin! 180! If I did a 360, I'd go completely around and end up back where I started." Sorry, couldn't resist!
