Participants in this thread should check out the third Myth-Speaker adventure, available now.
I definitely checked it out and loved all the Casmaron goodies!!!

Also, I had been having mixed feelings about exploring Casmaron at a possible clasp of the Padishah Empire, as it would be interesting to explore a powerful Kelesh.
But seeing independence achieved for the Kardaji Bay nations would also be very interesting.
So after thinking about it, I think we can still explore a lot of the genie culture of Kelesh even if the empire loses several of its previously conquered nations. Which leaves us free to explore the Kardaji bay in greater detail, if those nations separate from Kelesh.
I am also excited to explore Northern Casmaron some day. We know very little about that part of Casmaron. It is my hope that there is a Bugbear nation up there and a Selkie nation up there.

Am I correct in understanding that the content of this thread and the discussion that took place here were used during the creation of the Kardaji Bay guide?
Not a Paizo employee, but almost certainly not "used" - IIRC they have a long-standing policy against using anything that a fan comes up with in such a way, as the possibility for copyright disputes/violations is too risky. I seem to recall James Jacobs saying, on a thread where people were pitching AP ideas to one another a long time ago, something like, "Please don't write down a great, detailed idea about something you want to see happen in the setting and publish it here, that basically locks us out of actually doing that thing in the setting."
Of course, if they've already written something and someone on the boards happens to guess/predict it, that's fine and fair game. ;)

If that was ever the case, it certainly isn't now. Paizo.com's Terms of Use provide that our posting "questions, messages, ideas, suggestions, feedback, comments, and other content ('User Content')" grants Paizo "a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to access, view, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, copy, and display such User Content in any form, media, or technology now known or hereafter developed." That is, they can use any ideas we post here, and we have no legal ability to either stop them or demand compensation.

Interesting! Perhaps I misremembered...but I could swear I encountered the stance I described in a forum thread years ago. Who knows, though.
You didn't misremember, I remember James saying that as well. It's maybe less of a formal policy than just a good idea.
Just because we post a thing here, that doesn't guarantee we have the right to actually sign away rights to the idea. So the legalese Zimmerwald quotes is helpful, but still not a ton of protection in the event they want to use an idea they find posted. For all they know we're accidentally remembering an obscure novel or the plot of an old Shadowrun mission or something. Best to be careful.

Does anyone know what each of the Kardaji Bay nations are based on? I don't know that much about bronze age civilisations and would love to do some research.
IMO:
Midea, Theiron and Mishirya - greek colonies in Asia
Khattib - something new to Mesopotamia or Elam
Hukaris - Assyrian or Akkad
Unbroken League - mix of above

Oh yes - now that you've said that, I think that concern (i.e. posters might be remembering SOMETHING ELSE already under copyright, too) was explicitly mentioned. Like you say, a good idea regardless of the legalese!

Khattib is kind of its own thing without a specific real world inspiration. There’s some Vudrani influence there. Kind of a Myanmar vibe.
Hukaris is a riff on the Hittites.
