Makes sense to me. Could be we were busted, snitches, or otherwise allies or sources of the watch. I could see Annett tipping off the watch about something she witnessed or overheard while performing in a tavern or inn or found while skulking around for the Alliance.

As far as Inquisitive, thats the route I would go at a home table, but since this is AL, I cant take it with the city watch background (breaks the phb+1 rule) so I'll go either arcane trickster or Mastermind.

Do not feel bad, it is not intuitive. It was something that they decided should not be limiting because you can make custom backgrounds per the PHB anyway. ^_^ (Except for the Background Feature, of course.)

Here is the Elf Fighter. Background suggested to reflavor the Criminal background a bit for ideals, so I did that. Yes, he is wearing leather, it was the only way to get the bow immediately, in case we ever have to fight sky creatures. I figure I can get better armor in the next level or two with treasure points.

Give me a week or so. I get my book in Monday or Tuesday. I have a hard time reading off of D&D Beyond, but as a reference it is top-notch. I want to get a good handle on Chapter 1 before we start and I will be using the evenings next week doing that and hopefully I will be able to kick it off by Friday of next week.
I will be creating the new threads as soon as I bolt down the two tables.

Here is Blaq Foxx's Character. You were right, I did earn enough Adventure Points to Level Up to 2. I'll take the slow progression option until everyone else catches up.
Also, I've been using This and This as resources for role-playing a citywatchmen and interacting with NPCs in Waterdeep. I particularly looked at the ranks (I made my self a Swordcaptain), uniforms, and organizational structure of the watch to see where Gramm would fit in it all.
I think if we're going for the 'Suicide Squad' hook, it would make sense for Gram to be under the Theif-Taker division of the watch, particularly because of his backstory and skill set.
If any of that doesn't gel with the adventure, I'm not married to it. Just throwing it out there.

I did not have a defined backstory or alignment as of right now. So I can pretty much work with any kind of group.

I'm fine with working with the police. They understand that just like a watchman, an assassin has his place in society. Also, the watch is notoriously corrupt, so....yeah.
As far as my feat goes, I took Skulker, which somehow got missed when I ported the character from notepad to the alias.

And to just to let you know. My Storm Kings Thunder game is changing to Dragon Heist with another charter. I have no problem playing like I don't know what is going on if we are at the same place as this table. just FYI.
