Dying - Healing Cycle

Is it intenden that, when a character is brought to 0 HP he nearly always loses a turn after getting healed due to Slow, prone, drop weapon ?
In the lost star the confrontation with Drakus ran for the fighter in our group this way:

Round 1: Drakus wins initiative and brings the fighter to dying with a single critical hit, Druid heals fighter, Fighter shakes off slow2 and stands up.
Round 2: Drakus hits fighter , brings him to dying, alchemist heals fighter, fighter shakes off slow, stands up and picks up his weapon.
Round 3: Drakus brings fighter down, fighter gets stabilized and waits until Ranger and druids animal whittle away Drakus HP.

Since it seems to happen quite frequently (*) that a character is brought to 0 HP (at least at first level), i wanted to know whether this kind of lockdown occurs in other groups too and how you handle this situation.

(*) In three of the four of the other fights a character went down in the first two rounds:
slime bought one down in round two (critical hit),
a wounded character (8/16 hp) was hit by three goblins arrows in the catacombs in the first round,
and the first in the single file corridor to the mausoleum got attacked by all six skeletons.

It probably is intended, more or less. (Standing and picking up your weapon are optional.)

What's would you prefer? Something like this?
Round 1: Drakus downs Fighter. Druid heals Fighter. Fighter and allies attack Drakus.
Round 2: Repeat.
Round 3: Repeat.
That seems too easy. As long as you can heal your ally at least 1HP per round, getting downed wouldn't matter at all.

Well, the tank does still tie up the BBEG's attacks this way, which is a tank's job description.

(Yes, I was joking, of course.)

Dataphiles

I found the same thing.

It's like one of those blow up dolls - you hit them, their initiative changes to Drakus' initiative, someone heals them, there back in the room, repeat.

What we need is a system that lets heroes be heroic.

There is nothing heroic or cinematic about being knocked unconscious over and over, fight after fight. By the time we were done with The Lost Star, our frontline fighter was knocked down more times that Rocky in all of his movies combined, and knocked unconscious more times by the third room.

At least Rocky was only knocked down in extreme boss fights and never from a single hit.

Watching our frontline tank be knocked down three times in a single fight with 6 goblins was just not heroic. At all.

A much, much better solution would be one where reaching zero HP leaves you on your feet. Your world just got rocked (probably not in a good way) and now you can heroically shrug it off and get back into the fight. Maybe with some penalties. Maybe those penalties can be shrugged off with hero points or magic, or even a heroic fortitude save. Maybe, if you get rocked a few times, then being knocked down is possible, allowing for the heroic 9-count but getting back on your feet before the Ref gets to 10.

Let our heroes be heroic. Don't make them look like Moe, Larry, and Curly knocking each other down and bouncing back up to be knocked down again and again and again.
