Squeezing rules seem really harsh!

So, in part 2 of Doomsday Dawn, one of my PCs was a druid with a Large-sized bear companion. However, many of the passages in the Tomb of Tular Seft are only five feet wide.

The only reference I could find in the rules for how to handle this was the Acrobatics "Squeeze" activity, which on a success allows you to move 5 feet per minute of squeezing! That seems incredibly harsh to me, and basically meant that it was impossible for the druid to bring his bear into the dungeon with the party in anything close to a reasonable time.

I think that use of Squeeze makes sense if you are talking about a creature trying to fit through a really small space, like a human contorting themselves through a 1-foot-wide crack in a wall or something. But for a Large creature to take a full minute to move five feet down a five foot wide passage seems really out of whack.

Am I missing something? Or does this need to be addressed somehow?

If we could house-rule or suggest something would say to give it The Flat-Flooded condition and call it a day

I agree, and in any normal game I'd probably do the same. But since this is a playtest I'm trying to stick as closely to the rules as possible. Otherwise, the playtest isn't giving valid feedback.

This does seem especially harsh for companions. At least a PC could take the Quick Squeeze feat.

The Squeeze rules in PF2 are not trying to replicate the Squeeze rules in PF1, they are trying to replicate the "Move Through Tight Space" action in the Escape Artist skill.

Paizo should refrain from changing nomenclature unnecessarily, because this one is really confusing for PF1 players.

Move Through Tight Space

The DC noted is for getting through a space where your head fits but your shoulders don’t. If the space is long you may need to make multiple checks. You can’t get through a space that your head does not fit through.

Action Squeezing through a tight space takes at least 1 minute, maybe longer, depending on how long the space is.

I have no idea why Paizo insists on recreating the wheel and making things confusing when they should be straight forward.

I have not seen the rules for squeezing a large creature down a 5' passage but I'm assuming these are not them considering it would take you 1 minute to move 5'.
