Hey everyone,
With the new archetype system, I realized a big limitation and would like to start a discussion about it.
In order to get a new archetype feat, you need to spend a class feat to get the archetype feat you want. This system is quite interesting since not all classes have the same amount of class feats:
Sorcerers get 6 class feats
Spellcasters get 8 class feats
Other classes get 11 class feats
This seems to mitigate a lot of the issues people were having when talking about Fighter multi-classing into Wizard vs Wizard multi-classing into fighter, which is quite good, but it also means that spellcasting classes will less likely be interested into archetypes, which I'm a little bit sad about.
What are your opinion about it?
What do you think about the special case that is the sorcerer? Is it a doomed class concerning archetypes?
PS: I know that some people seems to think that sorcerers are missing a two feats, but these feats are in fact used to acquire the advanced and greater bloodline powers.

I guess it would depend on what the archetype brings to the table. Sure Cavalier might not be attractive but another might be.
I'm not saying that archetypes aren't interesting, I'm asking if its cost can be too much. Let's say we have an archetype interesting for all classes.
Let's take a look at the cases where they want to take 2 feats from this archetype.
2 feats mean:
1/3 of all of the sorcerer class feats.
1/4 of all of the spellcasting class feats.
2/11 of other classes class feats.
That situation is quite ok (except for the sorcerer, 1/3 of all your class feats seems already like a lot).
But if you take the example of having 3 feats from an archetype it means:
Half of your class feats for sorcerers
1/3 of your class feats for spell casters
3/11 of your class feats for others.
With such a system and the current archetypes, it seems like the archetypes format might need some work.
We probably need some archetypes that might be more interesting to spellcasters but have fewer feats and it seems like the 3 feats requirements before taking another archetype might be too much for some classes... (letting go 2/3 of your class feats in order start a second archetype is a huge cost for sorcerers).
