As a heads up to all our players. The Alien Archive player boon (see here ) is no longer valid for completion.

There has been some misconception on this and I wanted to make it clear. Sorry for being the Grinch... this time.

I think as recompense you should allow Maze Core equipment ^_^

My Nuar was somewhat confused when Triune took his equipment away >.>

The dates were pretty clear. I just GM'd too much to earn the barathu I wanted. RIP Blasto the Hanar Super Spy.

Is there a new boon like this coming? If so, should we not expect it before GenCon and/or AA2?

While I'm glad most of my players got the Barathu, I'm still a little disappointed that the boon seemed to punish GMing.

Perhaps another way to unlock Barathu for GMing will be made in the future...

@Pithica, I believe the Skittermander boon contained in the Skitter Shot Chronicle Sheet is meant to replace it.

@Anaba Me too...

This version not applying equally to DMs as players kinda hurt. Ideally dming is a net positive, not 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

Being able to track it on a chronicle sheet or across your chronicle sheets rather than needing a dm signature every time would be nice for online play.

A certain boon is already the new alien archive boon and seems to have taken both of these into account. (whether on purpose or on accident i'm not sure...)

So, if we missed the original Alien Archive boon, we're not going to get access to the AA races from the boon?

I mean, I didn't want to be one of those particular races, anyway. I'm just trying to get a feel for how this stuff works so I know what I have to jump on and what can wait.

Not from the expired Alien Archive boon, no.

Frankly, Starfinder Society is still so new and this has been so different from PFS that we don’t know what will happen yet.

Okay. I had kind of assumed that the AA boon would be an annual thing and each year the list would get longer (but include the previous year's aliens). I only started looking into Society in April/May and figured I should wait to get started on the next one. If I'd have known it was a one time thing it probably wouldn't have changed anything, but it will if something like that happens again.

Makes total sense.

It is analogous to the PFS RSP GMing boon that changes what it offers each year. So they're rotational rather than additive.
