A player wants to make a holy/unholy weapon. Is that allowed? The thread that I found on this was very not super helpful and kinda old
(http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2lq30?HolyUnholy-Quality#1)
My thought is heck no... the weapon is "imbued with Holy/Unholy power" so both cant be placed on the same weapon.....
Thanks

You can do it.
You would have to be Neutral in order to avoid the Negative Level.
You could even go further and throw Axiomatic and Chaotic on it. You now would have to be True Neutral to hold it without getting a Negative Level, but it is doable.
The World Serpent Spirit Rage Power is about effectively doing exactly that.

Powers can be added to an item after it's been created. So, Good aligned crafter puts holy on it. The some time later an Evil aligned crafter puts unholy on it. Or the crafter could just increase the DC to make it w/o being any specfic alignment.
It's a similar argument about putting both flaming and frost on a weapon. There's nothing in the rules that say you can't do it, but many dm's won't allow you to enchant a weapon with diametrically opposed energies on a weapon. So, no flaming/frost, no holy/unholy, no chaotic/axiomatic.
Weirdly, no one ever has a problem combining thundering, corrosive and shocking with other types, even each other.
as for items being 2 opposed alignments. The horn of Goodness/Evil is technically one item.

There's no mechanic stopping someone from making a holy unholy weapon. For that matter, I've never met a single GM that wouldn't let someone put flaming and frost on a weapon.
That said, from a player perspective, holy and unholy are pretty terrible enhancements to stack on the same weapon since they're expensive and pretty much never apply at the same time.
