Echolocation

Advice

For my level 12 grenadier alchemist - ranged bomb thrower - is the 4th level extract echolocation worth it for my guy? The duration is great but I'm unsure if I'll be coming up against situations where I'd use this much.

Currently I get 5 level 4 extracts. I took:
1. Freedom of Movement
2. Greater False Life
3. Greater Invis
4. Universal Formula
5. Cure Critical Wounds

Should I be knocking one of these guys out to make room for the echolocation?

thx

I think it depends on your game. I got it for my Arcane Duelist Bard in Rise of the Rune Lords. I've been up against Dragons and wizards with mirror image. I just "walk up to them and poke em in the eyes" :) It's a great spell but not super since it only goes out to 40 feet. I still use it every chance I get. So it depends on you and your situation.

edit: Are you the healer of the group? If not then you can get ride of the Cure Critical Wounds. False Life is always useful. Technically you should be able to get a magic item for Freedom of Movement, but I think it's expensive.
If you have a fulltime healer in the group, get rid of the CCW.

Based on my experience, yes. If you're exploring a dungeon, having blindsight up is frequently useful. Magical darkness, invisibility, visual illusions...

I'd drop Cure Critical Wounds - the amount it heals isn't really enough to justify spending a round using it when you're fighting CR12+ monsters. (Assuming you have access to some other form of healing.)

Our group has a barbarian, witch and Paladin. The healers are the paladin and myself. I have 2 tumor familiars so I would use them to take the cure critical wounds extract. I wouldn't waste a turn using that to heal myself for an avg 30 HP.

The campaign we are in is curse of the crimson throne.
