Core rulebook question

I was informed by one of my regular PFS Gm's that my hardcover core rulebook is no longer legal for use in PFS because Paizo made rules updates to the newer softcover edition. I was just wondering if this was true.

If you have an older edition, just download the Errata document and you're good.

Great. Thanks. I'll just have to print it out and take it with me to the next game then.

Latest errata I'm seeing is the sixth printing, which I know came in a hardcover edition... because I have a copy of it.

So this isn't a case of all hard-cover copies being outdated compared to the soft-cover "Pocket" edition, but older copies of the hard-cover do need the errata. You can find which printing your book is on the "Credits" page just before the Table of Contents, second line from the very bottom. Knowing which printing you have will help you know which errata document to download, so you can get the one that only covers the changes between your book and the latest.

I know this is the original printing because I bought it the day it was released. Thanks for the info. I do have the soft-cover edition too but my wife has it when we are both playing at a game.

The errata is available to print and include with your copy. Here is the link to the page.

I got mine signed by Jason B at GenCon and the cover fell off.
