Yes, but it's also good to kill opponents that are awake and trying to kill you. Pros/cons.
And yeah, I forgot about it only lasting one round. Still useful, however. But witches can have a hard time against crowds.

She Who Knows |

Hexes only work on one person at a time until you get really high level. So yes witches are better against one or a few enemies. The Zoth restrictions on spells don't help with crowd control either. A couple of burning hands, esp if I was 2nd or 3rd level, would have helped no end.
I believe witches start as the most powerful full arcane casters. They don't stay that way at all, but at low levels the fact you can use hexes over and over counts for a lot.

If the boys need shelter/protection from the storm and there's no more room under the wagons, they could always use the shade cloth/tarp Bjoern's carrying - crouch low near the wagons and cover themselves with the tarp... Dain, could you please confirm this would provide protection from the sandstorm damage? Just figuring some things out.

Sure! You have it packed up to be discreet, so it would take a bit for Bjeorn to get it out of his pack (full action) and fling it over himself and one other person; but after that, anyone under it should have protection from the Non-Lethal damage.

She Who Knows |

Happy thanksgiving from downunder.
I don't think anyone has looked in the rear wagon, so they might be able to shelter in there.

Dain GM |

Quick question: how many people are having difficulty reading the map?
Also, if you click one of the map icons it SHOULD click to the pop-up window on the right with full details on their status (including the damage they've taken and their current status).
If there is a problem with the map, or if I'm not doing something correct which prevents it from being seen, please let me know so I can fix it.
Thanks!

Ariarh Kane |

I hope you feel better soon, Anhur.
==============
In case Bjoern does need some more healing (via first aid/heal skill), Tairin will tend to his wounds. Please ignore this if it isn't necessary (that's why I'm putting it here, so it doesn't disrupt current rp).
Heal Check on Bjoern (DC 15): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
It takes 1d4 ⇒ 1 min.
Returning 3+1+2=6 HP to Bjoern.

A plague of multifarious maladies seems to be afflicting the players in this game. I overdid it in the gym yesterday and my lower back is painful, especially when I move.
The good news is I have just hurt my muscles not my spine, which means it will get better. And unlike headaches it means I am more likely to spend time on the computer, because I don't have to move much here.:(

Anhur |

Glad it wasn't your spine. I had a minor spine injury not so long ago and it took about 6 months to heal. The back is a very sensitive thing.
Now then, about plans:
As I see it we can either take the camels, with the women riding and the men walking, and the gold & such on any available camels; or we can take a wagon, all but one or two of us ride in it (or take shifts), and then ditch it outside the city. The latter would technically be slower, but it would save us time vs having to stop for 3 hours today to get out of the sun.

Given that you've already waited for Bjeorn to dig up the bodies it's already 12:15, depending on what happens next you'll be making a Fortitude Check for work during the day under the sun.
As stated before you could keep four people inside the wagon with the loot and enough food and water to get to the town with ease (it's only about an hour away).
It only takes 2 camels to haul one wagon, so someone could ride the third camel if you'd like.
Or, as stated, you could also just walk there, but that will require a Fortitude Save. If you wait for three hours then you won't get to the town until roughly 4:30 PM...
That said; let me know what your plans are and we'll go from there!

Glad your back is doing well! Back injuries can be horrible - here's hoping you continue to do well :)

She Who Knows |

It is pretty horrid at the moment, mostly when lying down standing up or rolling over.
But I am practically sure I have not hurt the spine, which means it should heal. Seeing a doctor in an hour. :)

Something like that happened to my mother - her back was sore a bit, so she laid down to let it rest, the muscles, which weren't that tight quite yet, they tightened up in the wrong way and then the pain got really bad - she was laid up for nearly a month! So be careful how you rest/lay down and don't overdo it.
Meanwhile, via the game.
From what I can tell the company has elected to spend roughly 20 minutes digging the buried slavers from out of a foot of sand.
The bodies where then stripped of their goods, including the blood covered armor, and then piled in a heap on top of the sand.
The camels which were attached to the slave wagons have been unhitched from the slave wagons.
This means you'll be leaving the slave wagons on the road by a pile of stripped corpses. It should be noted that the bulk of the water/foodstuffs will be left behind, as well as the 2 large tents, as those things will not be able to fit on the camels if anyone wants to ride them.
I'm also not sure where the armor will fit into this as you could put it on the camels, but then you couldn't ride the camels if they're carrying goods.
It's unlikely that you'll see much traffic on the road, even near the city itself, mainly because of the time of day - most people typically rest or relax in the shade during this time of day to avoid the heat, even in the city, but that will change as time passes during the day.
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure I had things clear via the decisions is all.

She Who Knows |

I suggest waiting in the wagons until the heat of the day has passed, then riding into the city.
The rest of the plan is 100% good with me.
The doctor tells me I pulled a muscle.

Hedran |

All the best for you guys, and a quick recovery.
Red, I think pulled muscles mean rest, rest, rest ;)
As far as the plan goes, could we step back for a second? I would like to keep at least one of the wagons. Wouldn't like to leave behind 'the bulk of the water/foodstuffs, as well as the 2 large tents, as those things will not be able to fit on the camels if anyone wants to ride them'....
We can re-purpose the wagons while Bjoern tackles the corpses, can we not?
EDIT: I've read my Conan comics thousands of times over, and also from the emphasis being given to survivability in the game, I don't think wasting food and water to be a wise option.

Bjoern Ghostbear |

I am in favor to keep the wagon. Makes traveling in armor easier ;-)
But alas, I think I have to keep more up. I am unable to post that often unfortunately and I have a feeling, that if I can, actions are already done.
Bjoern would have stripped the bodies of course before putting them to the sand, for example. Most likely he would have been one to do the shoveling.

Ariarh Kane |

I hope all who are suffering from various ailments feel better soon. Glad it's only a pulled muscle, Red. Still, I know they can hurt a lot. Rest up as much as you can.
I'm okay with keeping a wagon pulled by the two camels. We can pile what we want/need and the five of us can ride to Belthaar. Samir has opted to take a camel and ride ahead on his own.
If you’re all ready to go, tell me what you take and anything else you wish to do and I’ll move us to the city gates...
GM Dain, can we move forward to Belthaar now? I believe we've finished with this place on the outskirts of the city. :)

She Who Knows |

The answer is nope I am afraid Ariarh. We are in mid-disagreement. :(
I too am glad the problem is a pulled muscle. That will heal if I am sensible. Spinal injuries however...

Anhur |

I think we're going to take at least 2 camels and just one wagon. We're then going to set out immediately for the city. If we're leaving now, Samir should be happy to travel with us. Assuming we're not still waiting on Bjoern to finish molesting the dead.

Dain GM |

Clarification: Hedran will not be able to post/answer questions until Monday the 4th of December. Tairin will not be able to post again until Sunday, December 10th.
I will be botting Tairin until the 10th.
I'l have an answer up for Tairin's question in a little while; but for now, neither of them will be able to do much Social RP, unfortunately.

Dain GM |

Hm. Well, can we put things on hold until the 4th?
Well, we could - though I suppose I'll answer Tairin's question before then.
Clarification: Are you asking if the game can be slowed a bit because you want to do some specific RP with Hedran before getting to the city?
Also, to clarify - no one has any questions about the city for Samir other than Tairin?
That being the case, I'll have an answer up via Samir to Tairin a little later. As for what questions or plans you guys want to make between now and the 4th, that's totally up to you guys.

Dain GM |

Sorry for the lack of posting today.
Work was extremely stressful; I was not feeling well physically and mentally and it was difficult.
Oh, also, today was my birthday, and I had some personal things to attend to as well.
That said -
I have not seen a post from Anhur or Bjeorn.
Are you two still interested in playing?
Anhur; I believe you have not done any RP because you were waiting for Hedran to get back to you via your question about his backstory.
I don't know when that will be, but tomorrow I'm formally putting us inside the city. If you have any questions this is a good time to ask :)

Anhur |

Okay I'll get a post up. Sorry, for some reason I had it stuck in my head that both Hedran and Tairin would post yesterday.
I've been really sick so that's my excuse for not making sense.

Bjeorn and Anhur -
No worries; it’s all good, this time of year I think a lot of people have been sick. Also, Bjeorn, I understand about your guy being more quiet/stoic, I'll remember that for the future :)
Also, sorry for the delays in postings; I’ll do what I can to correct that, too.
Anyhow, I’ll toss up my response to Red, but I’m running late to work; hopefully while I’m gone Hedran will respond to you guys, but either way, tonight we enter the city.

She Who Knows |

I hope you return to health Anhur.
When I am not 100% well I tend to post more not less. I can always sit at the computer when I can't do a lot of other things.

She Who Knows |

Sounds serious Anhur.
When I am ill, often with cold or flu, I am very drowsy and keep falling asleep. If that is what it is... consider going to the doctor and do go if it keeps up.
If it is like fainting or any sort of passing out that isn't drowsiness, that could be very serious, go to a doctor straight away.
I am not a doctor but I am pretty sure that is good advice.

Dain GM |

Just re-read my last post; sorry for the bad grammar and shoddy writing. I meant to edit the post with updates (including Tairin's correct Diplomacy modifier) but when I tried to edit it after I posted it bounced me up and it wouldn't let me correct it.
I'll make those adjustments soon, but right now I'm needing rolls from everyone.
Finally, has anyone heard anything from Hedran?

She Who Knows |

Not for a while.
The Paizo site has been playing up for a long time. :(

Dain GM |

The Paizo site has been playing up for a long time. :(
I had that problem earlier myself. Couldn't get the editing done, but I'm glad to see it's doing its thing now, at least.
Also, for what it's worth, I updated the campaign page with links to the maps of the city and some other minor details to help out :)

Dain GM |

Okay guys, I can see straight and I can stay awake. I'm not 100% by any means, but I'll try to catch up. Apologies once again.
Glad you're feeling somewhat better.
Hedran, I'm glad you're back, too.
Meantime, I'm off to work - I should be home in roughly 13 hours and I'll have responses up then :)

Ariarh Kane |

Anhur:
Note via the wagon; inside the chest you would have found 200 gold; 200 silver; 200 copper (total value of 222 gold pieces). True his comment to Tairin about "leaving her most of the gold" Samir has has taken 20 gold; 50 silver and 50 copper. This means that he's carrying a large chunk of the useless coin. Also, assuming the loot was split equally (roughly 34 gold) that would leave him with only 25.5 gold pieces, which is a little more than 1/8th of the loot, but clearly less than then an equal share.
- Will be back to posting tomorrow night my time.

She Who Knows |

Thanks for clearing that up Ariarh. I had not noted it myself.
