Yeah, Anhur is probably just going to try his best to steal the wagon. He might "free" the slaves in order to cut the weight, but that's about as altruistic as the situation warrants for him.

Ariarh Kane |

Tairin isn't really concerned with the slaves either. She's more concerned with staying alive and surviving both sandstorm and guards.
---------
I've colour-coded the current combat map to help players distinguish one guard from another and one slave from another. Hope it helps. :)

It super-helped, Ariarh. Thanks for the assistance.
As for you guys - remember; the sandstorm will have additional difficulties.
Good luck!

The woman's song stirred his blood, and his spear struck true. He left it in the skewered guard.Standard: attacking blue
Free: dropping spear
Move: drawing dagger & club
Free: 5ft step to set up flanks against purple (pending Bjoern's cooperation)Anhur; I noticed this in the earlier combat but didn't correct it then. However, you cannot move and draw weapons as part of your Move Action unless you either have Quick Draw or a BAB of 1.
Will you still take that action, or do you wish to take another? Let me know and I'll have the enemy act. Thanks!
This is close to correct, and I know what you're referencing, but you can take a 5ft step (a special free action) and a move-equivalent action in the same round (including drawing a weapon). If I had a BAB of 1+ I could indeed draw weapons as part of a move action, but that's not what I'm doing. See the rulebook for 5ft step for more details.

I have been having internet connection issues. :( It hasn't affected my participation in this campaign yet, but it could.
Please "bot" me if needed.

If you have the Two-Weapon Fighting feat, you can draw two light or one-handed weapons in the time it would normally take you to draw one.
To prevent things from lagging, no worries.
I suppose my confusion was the issue regarding Two Weapons.
Specifically, how did you get Two-Weapon fighting, Cannibalize, and Eyes of the Cat? The Bonus Feats of an Infernal Alchemist do not include any of those options...
I do recall you had asked me if you could pick up Eyes of the Cat as a alternative Feat for level 1 and swap it out, but I didn't know you were asking to include Eyes of the Cat with your list of Bonus Feats via your Alchemist; I thought you were swapping Eyes of the Cat for a regular Feat instead - unless I'm mistaken?
If you did attempt to add Eyes of the Cat to your list of Bonus Feats via Infernal Alchemist then I'm going to have to ask you change it back. As it stands I suppose I'm somewhat confused is all.
In any case; your action stands now, but please let me know what I'm missing in your next post - and if it was a mistake on my part to agree to allow your character to pick up Eyes of the Cat as a bonus feat option then I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you swap it back to one of the standard ones, unfortunately.

Dain GM |

Bear I'm not really sure what your character is up to on this round.
You seem to have included the Flank Bonus (I think); but you did not move to Flank on the map.
In any case, you missed without the Flank Bonus - you haven't moved your character on the Combat Map for that bonus on the purple, as you're not able to Flank from where you're standing.
For now I'm just going to rule it happened.
I'm also going to update your character on the Combat Map to coincide with what Anhur asked and you indicated - though I don't like moving characters for players as accidents can happen that way.
Please make sure you move your character on the map in the future as I'm just really confused how it could have had happened in your current position; though I did move your character in the meantime.
Finally; have you been wearing your armor when traveling all day? I thought you were not wearing it given that it drops your move speed down and that would be a problem for your traveling speed; not to mention the heat you'd have while wearing it. This effects both your AC, but your DR, which you mentioned on the sheet - but you wouldn't have had time to put it no for this encounter.
Please let me know what's going on - at this time I'm just really, really confused and I'm having a lot of personal difficulties which makes it somewhat challenging to understand what's going on is all.
Thank you!

Please let me know what I'm missing in your next post - and if it was a mistake on my part...
I'm sorry if I made a mistake via the feats. I tried to edit the post, but I missed the cut-off by 1 minute :(
I'm having some personal medical issues lately and it's effecting my concentration, sorry for that, I apologize.

Bjoern Ghostbear |

I couldn´t move on the map, sorry, with my smartphone.
Bjoern did put on his armor and never undid it. With endurance he should manage the heat rather well.
Bjoern asks for a minute and quickly dons his armor. He then walks slowly forward lighting a torch to better see the carnage.
--------------------------------------------------------
But I know the problems with personal issues. Will have to move to the doctor myself today.

That initial post was made over a day ago in-game. I assumed you had taken it off after so you could travel at the same speed as the others. Basically, although you may have been able to handle the heat, unfortunately, the combat would not have happened given the move speed the armor permits as the speed of the party would have been reduced to 2/3 of it's normal movement speed and you'd be miles away from when this happened.
In other words; you shouldn't be able to have the armor on and experience this combat as you'd not be able to do both given how slow you move while wearing the armor. If I'm missing something, please let me know as I might be wrong no how things work here.
If you're wearing the armor in the future, please let me know as it would help me a lot. After all, it's fairly important; not just for AC but things like overland movement and other things yet to come up...
Via the combat map - if you're able to see the map, if you could let us know what grid you'd move to via coordinates then we can move you in the future as needed - just let us know :)
Finally, I'm sorry you're going to have to go the doctor. I hope you get better soon!

I am on medical leave for two weeks now.
To much stress at work. Got real bad lately and today I pushed the emergency stop button!
Hope things mend soon.
I have been there, occupational stress, and let it go way too far.
Do we have a new player character in Hedran? Looks like it.

No worries. It was my understanding that I would have 3 feats at 1st level:
1 - first HD2 - human bonus feat
3 - Ikuna bonus feat
If I misunderstood I can go back and edit. Ideally after this encounter.
EDIT: I didn't see anything about my hit on blue. I guess he's still up?

Dain GM |

Hey guys; I'm sorry, I'm having some pretty sever personal/medical issues getting to me. I've been trying to calculate the math for the last hour and I'm just not able to do it.
I'm sorry for the delay - I will have the enemy's reaction up on Sunday Evening. Right now I just need to get some rest and get away.
Also, Anhur, you did hit the blue guy via last round, I totally forgot that in my initial post and I'm sorry for that.
I'm so sorry for the delay; I hate skipping posting but I just can't do it properly now. I'll see you guys soon, though and I hope you have a great weekend.
Also, Bjeorn, please try to get some rest and feel better soon!

She Who Knows |

Dain GM- It sounds like the right thing to take a break. Get well. :)
Anhur- Your PC is feeling sick. Now that I can hopefully do something about, healing hex coming if I can swing it.
Question- What is that thing behind Anhur before he moved. Is that Hedran? Not meaning to insult anyway it just is not clear its a human figure.

Bjoern Ghostbear |

Also, if I had known that the medium armor whould have caused issues, Bjoern would have taken the light armor from the guards and would wear it during the travel days. I thought about it, but then I thought well traveling in medium armor won´t cause any issues.

She Who Knows |

The orange guard was behind Anhur before he moved. Hedran is standing beside Anhur now on the map.
Yes, I thought that was Hedran. Thanks.

Bjoern Ghostbear |

Harsh conditions or long exertions do not easily tire you.
Benefit: You gain a +4 bonus on the following checks and saves: Swim checks made to resist nonlethal damage from exhaustion; Constitution checks made to continue running; Constitution checks made to avoid nonlethal damage from a forced march; Constitution checks made to hold your breath; Constitution checks made to avoid nonlethal damage from starvation or thirst; Fortitude saves made to avoid nonlethal damage from hot or cold environments; and Fortitude saves made to resist damage from suffocation.
You may sleep in light or medium armor without becoming fatigued.
Nope doesn´t.

Anhur |

Crap, sorry about that Anhur. It was Friday, and I didn't read your post fully... In any case the spear can be wielded 2h, and it allows me to try and do 'slightly' more damage, so it may be a better option. I promise I will give it back, if I survive :P
No worries. I'm more likely to die anyway. And I have a few extra spears.

She Who Knows |

I am trying to get to you with some healing Anhur. But it will have to be next round. I could have taken the direct route and healed you this round, but that exposes me to one AoO, acceptable by itself, and leaves me next to 4 guards, 2 flanking, which I am unlikely to survive.

She Who Knows |

If we manage to pull off sparking a slave revolt we should found the Peoples Proletarian Revolutionary Communist Collective of Sushrah (Marxist -Leninist, Ultra Violent and Feminist too].

Bjoern Ghostbear |

Sorry, just woke up.
As a side note, if you the medium armor would have been inconvenient, Bjoern would have taken a studded leather from the dead priests guards to wear during travels. I honestly thought it would be fine, so I didn´t mention it.

She Who Knows |

She Who Knows wrote:Ultra Violent and Feminist.Ooh - you could call them Violent Femmes!
I am a fan. I saw them live in 1984 [or maybe 1985].
Anyone recall the line "Come and see the violence inherent in the system!" from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Red could have said "Come and participate in the violence inherent in the system!"

She Who Knows |

I am going to let Hedran go before me in the hope he will kill the "blue" guard that is right next to me and I can escape an AoE. Then I will use the healing hex on Anhur.

She Who Knows |

Well, the guard was barely on his feet before you hit him Hedran.

Ariarh Kane |

Bjoern, I think the green guard is still standing (barely - he's taken 13 lethal damage and 2 non-lethal damage. The guards have 15hp and a DR of 1.).
The pink guard has only taken 2 NL damage (at K:12) and the orange guard (at J:11) has taken 2 NL damage and both are standing.

Ariarh Kane |

Isn't someone asleep?
The pink guard (presently at K:12) was sleeping (the slumber hex only lasts 1 round) but he was woken in Round 2 and stood up and moved next to Bjoern this round, I believe. And Tairin's Sleeping spell doesn't go off until our turn in the new round.

Ariarh Kane |

Dain, GM: You mentioned that the pink guard (that was prone on L:11) stood up and moved next to Bjoern this round. I moved him to K:12 as I noticed his avatar hadn't been moved yet. I'm not sure if that's the position you meant him to go to - but that's where he's been placed until you're back on the board to confirm. :)

She Who Knows |

Isn't someone asleep?
Hexes are great because you can normally use them on everyone once/day. Slumber hex lasts one round/ level. So at level one its just one round. It is best if someone can whack them when they are down. That wakes them up, well if you don't kill them.
I have hexed a number of guards this combat. Mostly it has just cost them one round asleep and a move action to stand up. It has probably made quite a bit of difference nonetheless.

She Who Knows |

How impertinent of them. My mistake. :(
But it is a good idea to try to kill slumbering opponents.
