And who/what is Falmer??

One of the nice things about playing in this time period is the Hapans aren't too distinct yet. XD Haven't even shut down the transport routes, much less had a few thousand years to evolve largely in isolation.

Aaaaaaand a socially-focused Skill Training would probably be fine. o wo I think I have a point in Diplomacy anyway...

An "early Hapan" version is quite fine. Whether or not it matches with a "late Hapan" is open to more dialogue, if so desired. I have a high degree of trust in the keen eyes of the Lorell Raiders.

'Cause not only were they pirates, they were space pirates. *And* they were space pirates that made off with the galaxy's hot babes.

Winning, the whole way 'round. :D

Just let me know what changes I should make. XD Shouldn't take me long to implement 'em.

Okay. So that I'm up on what a human is...

+2 to two stats, feat, skill, only speak basic and relegated to class focused bonus languages.

-or-

+2 to one stat, feat, skill, skill training, only basic, and the fear save bonus and one-a-day reroll

Right?

Rednal --

I'm putting that ball back in your court, for the present. I encourage you to make a pick; if there's an issue from my end, we'll reach a solution.

Because after the First and Great Commandment, we have Rule One:

Have Fun!

(This is not to be confused with the Prime Protocol, nor the Master Directive, High Ordinance, Supreme Edict, or any other policy/guideline/instruction I deem necessary to hand down. lol)

I just follow the Rule of Fives.

That said, the first one on Synchro's list sounds pretty solid to me, so I'll go with that. XD I could sooooo use another two points to toss into my Constitution.

Both satisfy me quite a lot. If I pick the latter one, I would retrain the talent the Nets me Acrobatics. Probably pick up that and either another knowledge or astrogation.

The boost to INT is Sooooo sweet though...

Synchro --

You're close, but not quite there.

A blind race from the Elder Scrolls franchise.

Blasted boards ate my post!!!

Hate that crap!!

The second of the two variants you posted, Synchro, is valued at 11 RP. Drop the Skill Training and you'll have a reasonable rendering of a Corellian possessed of their customary swagger and unusual luck.

Maybe this will help:

10 RP maximum

Flexible Feat: 4 RP
Static Feat: 2 RP

Skilled (extra skill rank per level): 4 RP
Skill Training (two specific are class skills): 1 RP*
Integrated (bluff, disguise, knowledge - local +1): 1 RP

Linguist (learn any language that is not "secret"): 1 RP
Standard Languages (Basic + racial + 7 others {still requires high Int}): 0 RP

Human Ability Adjustment (+2 to any one): 0 RP
Flexible Stats (+2 to any two): 2 RP

* -- The Skill Training trait is specific enough that it seems more world-specific than galactically generic.

First one's all right, then?

Yup.

Generic Human, type II --
-- +2 to two
-- flexible feat
-- extra skill rank per level
-- class and backstory languages permitted

Generic Human, type I --
-- +2 to one
-- flexible feat
-- extra skill rank per level
-- Integrated
-- Linguist

Generic Human, type I-a --
-- as type I, but:
-- drop Linguist, gain Urbanite *or* "Backwater Dweller" (detailed below)

"Backwater Dweller", 1 RP: gain a +2 racial bonus on Survival checks

Eeeeeexcellent. >D

...

That higher CON really does make a difference for a melee character. XD That should be everything I need to do for now, then...

Also:
"Rule of Fives"? Whazzat?

Also known as the Law of Fives, which reads "All things happen in fives, or are divisible by or are multiples of five, or are somehow directly or indirectly appropriate to 5".

Example: Star Wars Episode V is the middle movie of the first trilogy made, and also the middle of the original plan for nine films. Thus, all of the Star Wars movies can be said to revolve around the fifth.

Similarly, Episode V is the transition from minimally-trained farmhand to full-fledged Jedi Knight. While Luke continued to grow afterwards, I think it would be fair to say that his full training with Yoda was by far one of his most formative experiences, and would largely affect everything he did from that point onwards. As such, Episode V is the most important for the central protagonist's character development - proving, once again, that the Law of Fives is in effect.

I could go on, but basically, it becomes more true the harder you look. XD (Really, it's both a Discordian joke and a bit of commentary on objective and subjective reality.)

I'm a pisces, so I'm subject to the rule of threes. Also the tendency to ignore rules. Hence the rule of threes. Something like that?

Gonna go with the type 2. I like the skills, but Hayden eschewed that part of school. Skipping class to plant whoopee cushions in the Senate auditorium.

I concur. It's a common theme. Fives are also the harbingers of change.

There are meanings to all the numbers, but five always heralds change. Three is the god number. Two is the number of spirit guides. Etc.

Woo-hoo!! Another phase in the ongoing Equipment Saga!!

Woo, armor! 8D

...

I've only got fancy clothes. XD

Nothing fancy, yet. Just stuffs foah de fites.

I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me.

...Is what I'd like to say about my inability to wear armor, but Rhea definitely thinks of the Force more as something she has to work to use, rather than a flow she's naturally a part of and can simply tap into. XD Who knows? Maybe that viewpoint is why she's objectively inferior to most well-trained Force Sensitives.

Somewhat related question: What sorts of scenarios do you think a Profession (Hapan Intelligence) roll might be appropriate for? I'd like to add a few notes for myself there and try to actually use it on occasion, rather than it simply being a flavor investment. XD

Profession (Hapan Intelligence):

If I answered that question, wouldn't it be telling?? lol :D

But, no, seriously -- I can think of many potential applications for it in the narrative. I *am* somewhat loath to specify those, at this point, but mayhap this will suffice, for now: Rhea is familiar enough with her own intelligentsia SOPs to speculate well upon those of others, to be able to adapt said procedures to less structured formats, and to be able to glean deeper information from standard facts and reports.

Vague enough? :)

Droid armors?

*cough, cough, mumble, delegate*

Really the only distinction will be the naming conventions. Just for simplicity's sake.

I figured, but traditionally, they applied basic armor bonuses without interfering with speed or dexterity. I figured there may be a delineation of some sort between the two types.

Hell, desh plating gave a boost to dex, didn't it?

*quietly returns his bag full of canned worms to the Closet of Pointed Observations*

When you get down to it, neither of the KotORs let armor/encumbrance interfere with speed/maneuverability. Not that *I* noticed, anyway.

And it wouldn't be quite fair to let droids have *all* the good things in terms of armor, right? Or are we going to turn them into the dwarves of Star Wars?

In any event, I should have the remainder of the standard armors posted this evening, and hints of some of the variants. Assorted equipment and such will likely follow tomorrow or late tonight.

In other news: I have an employment opportunity for the next two weeks, beginning Wednesday. This will significantly reduce the frequency of my postings, and will likely impair my usually solid recall. So:

1) Ask specific questions, as much as you're able.
2) If I've forgotten something, call me out on it.
3) Saashaa -- final Devaronian stats incoming *tonight*, at long last. Apologies for the delay. Again. (Been kinda weird, trying to pick just the right traits for them . . . .)

[Wild Speculation]

The Echani: +2 to one stat, flexible feat, extra skill rank per level, Knowledge (history)/Sense Motive as class skills, and then some combat-oriented feature (Relentless {+2 bull rush/overrun} or Weapon Familiarity are the leading baseline candidates)

I have no particular questions or comments unless there's a change in the build rules or something else comes up. XD Rhea's pretty much done.

I'm trying to sift through some reasonable applications of the Divination sphere for the sake of drumming up a good Miraluka baseline. It's quite an interesting puzzle.

I've started piecing together some baseline gear (kits, rope-equivalents, and such like), but that's taken a backseat for the present since I'm enduring yet another 5E session . . . . *sigh* *eyeroll*

Working through about the fifth iteration of the Devaronian . . . . Ooof.

Revised/Saga source material doesn't jive very well with Wookieepedia content. The old rulebooks point to inquisitiveness, wanderlust, and attention to detail; the Wiki of the Wookiee indicates a race possessed of the indicated wanderlust (for the males), but also a dual-livered physiology with silver-based hemoglobin (and prone to use sulfur as a "cocaine-ish" stimulant!).

I feel I may have pushed the "face" aspect of the Twi'lek too much, and I don't want to fall into the same trap with the Devaronian. I *like* the Twi'lek, as is, and I think that build well reflects their typical roles in the canon, but I fear riding the "amazingly resistant to poisons and the like" too hard.

Nevertheless, here we go:

Devaronian

Humanoid (Devaronian)
+2 Dex, -2 Wis, +2 Cha (male); +2 Dex, +2 Wis, -2 Cha (female)
30' speed
Medium size
Basic, Devaronese
To Wander or to Stay: A Devaronian character may choose one bonus feat at level one.
Eerie Luck: Once per day, a Devaronian may choose to roll twice when making a Reflex save and take the higher result. This decision must be made before the save is rolled.
Carrion Scent: As the scent ability, but may only be used to find corpses or to track living creatures at or below 25% of total HP/WP
Twin Livers: Devaronians gain a +2 bonus to all saving throws vs disease, ingested poisons, and the nauseated and sickened conditions.
Amazing Metabolism: Devaronians gain a racial bonus equal to 2/3 their HD (rounded down) on saving throws vs poison, and may consume spoiled foodstuffs with no detriment to their health.

----------
----------

I prioritized the Wookieepedia content, obviously, and here's the RP breakdown --

0 RP -- type, size, languages, stats
1 RP -- Eerie Luck, Twin Livers, Carrion Scent
3 RP -- Amazing Metabolism (a tweaked version of Poison Resistance, adjusted to allow for their "extreme cuisine" ability)
4 RP -- flexible bonus feat, accounting for the male wanderlust and the female administrative capability

----------
Saashaa, I hope you like it! Let me know if you want to hash through any of it.

For example, Avacyn restored:

Just to show you how deep the rabbit hole goes:
*cackles maniacally*

Cash Money!: 4d4 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 2) = 8

You can totally use that roll.

You will not use that roll.

And so on, and so forth.

And, for the record:

You take the red pill. Or you can go home!

lol

Liberty's Edge

For what's worth, if you want to rebuild the Twi'lek, go ahead. Eliciters have enough face skills as it is.
Also, I've got a bit of a different idea for the background, working on it.

Honestly, I *don't* want to rebuild the Twi'lek. Not without some input. Got any suggestions? :)

Wow. First day's work in two months -- I'm *beat*. :)

Two secondary tentacle attacks? =D

You, sir, are fired. lol

I fail to see how that wouldn't be awesome.

Could give them a bite attack. They have those pointy evil looking teeth that ruined a lot of fantasies for many a young nerd.

Only some of 'em. And maybe just Bib Fortuna.

Sweet thanks

Champions of the Spheres is now up on the SoP Wiki (if anybody wanted to check it, see what's up with Rhea, and so forth).

Okay, people, here's the deal:

This new job has a lot of potential for financial gain, but calls for a huge portion of my time. I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to post each and every day (obviously, given that Thursday was my last post here), but I will do my utmost to stay abreast of things and keep us moving.

I should have another post up in about 16 hours or so.

1) Saashaa has his Devaronian.
2) Synchronicitically Challenged is, no doubt, dreaming up yet another version of Hayden.
3) Harm's Way has not yet confirmed his financial decisions for Zev Ronen.
4) Avacynrestored has a complete character and backstory, but hasn't yet made his second post in-thread!!
5) Sapiens is still refining his build and backstory.
6) Rednal has his Hapan field operative good to go.
7) Yoricks' HK-50-θ0 is pretty well set, to the best of my knowledge.
8) We have a handful of outliers who may or may not make character submissions in time for consideration.

And speaking of which . . . .

Announcement Whateverthewhichitis

This is Important

I want all final character submissions to be sent to me via PM, to include a profile with a full statblock (I can sift through aliases), no later than 3 January 2018. Our projected launch date will be 6 January 2018, with a target posting rate of one gameplay post every 72 hours (if we can do better, let's!).

Second: We're going to do a bit of handwaving on the equipment, simply because I don't have the time to build an exhaustive listing. Note: I do want each of you to put together a "basic kit" of items you'd want to have available (where finances truly allow -- looking at you, Rednal and Harm's), and I'll try to review those over the next two weeks -- in other words, mull those options and send me something soonest. Do know, though, that the equipment matters *will not* disqualify anyone from consideration if such are not completed by 3 Jan -- let's aim high here, but not be mired by those details.

And "D": I am not going to put a hard and final number out there concerning the number of player slots I will accept for this campaign -- the quality of your various characterizations will be the primary criterion for acceptance.

I think that covers it, for now.

Sound off, folks!!
