Blast (weapon special property)

Rules Questions

Am I reading this right - an attack with a blast weapon always takes -2 penalty, even when shooting at just one target? Seems strange that it's harder to hit one target with a blast weapon...

Because you have to use the blast option, you don't get the option to target just one creature. Whether it's 5 enemies or 1 it's always going to be a 15ft cone attack, so I don't really see why the penalty would go away.

That was my interpretation too, but I was wondering if they meant it was -2 to all attacks after the first one. I for one would like to think that this is some kind of shotgun, and it could even be easier to hit one target, not harder. But yeah, as written, that's how it goes.

Yep, all the attack rolls take a -2, because it's technically just one attack. It's fantasy style shotgun that fires in a short cone. Having more or less targets doesn't change the accuracy of the cone.

To me it shouldn't be an attack roll at all it should work like a cone of cold (without the cold damage) reflex save.

Edit: but this is the rules forum not the home brew forum.
