I'm thinking of taking the Roving Range trait. Increases the range increment to ranged weapons by 5 feet. Excludes thrown weapons. That seems pretty good for an archer.
It's pretty terrible unless you're using a very short ranged weapon like hand crossbows or pistols. A longbow has more than enough range without wasting a combat trait for 5' that could instead be used for an initiative boost or a skill bonus.

However, the following Improved Familiars can: arbiter inevitable, brownie, hellfire ignis, homunculus, imp, limnal sprite, lyrakien azata, mephit, pooka, quasit, sprite, and tripurasura asura.
Incorrect.
While the ones you pointed can use and hold wands which need a comand word so they had to have hands AND be able to speak(also im pretty sure that list was only for pfs). Nothing prevent a monkey from using a bow (apes and monkies are known for using tools). By raw he might not be proficient with one. Cause the weapon profocency you have is not a feat and thus cant be given to it.it can ether use it with -4 for not being proficiant or you can pick a feat for it. My half orc didnt take the orc weapon proficncy.i took that +2 to spellcraft and phisical ability of familiar.that let me later take exotic weapon orc hornbow.which is great since it even deal more damage. Main thing was getting him a tiny bow to matchPoint of fact the eldritch guardian class ability that give your combat feats, rule out a pig from using a weapon feat since it laked the right limbs.or are u saying that a monkey doesnt have hands and fingers?
What he might lack is understanding how to use a bow. And that is ether the -4 for no progicency or taking a feat that he then gains from the class ability .
