Folks, I am getting very close to clicking the little button that says "Make PaizoCon Events Live".

We've definitely had some hiccups along the way getting this beast wrangled and I am certain that there are things about the data entry or events that will need to be corrected or adjusted.
If something is not right with an event you submitted or you do not see an event you submitted in the schedule, please inquire as to what's up. It could be as simple as some missing data or more complex, we don't know until you ask!

We'll need to wait few days before the lottery process begins so we can ensure adjustments do not interfere with people selecting preferences.

Thanks
Sara Marie

Huzzah!

I just hope that little button isn't next to the much larger red button that says "launch the nukes".

If it is... just pay close attention while pushing buttons.

I am about to leave for the evening, so I plan to make it live when I get in tomorrow morning so that I can be here to address any issues that pop up as soon as possible rather than let people stew overnight in panic.

No! Nobody has any tape!

Ok. So tomorrow morning my time, before I get up.

As a first-timer I'm, um, I dunno if 'Confused' is the right word, maybe more 'Nervous' as to the separation or amalgam of Events, Lottery Stuff, and PFS Scenarios.

.

....Are the following true:

A) There are "Events" which include everything from seminars to lectures to the Banquet (for which one buys a separate ticket).

B) There are "Lottery games" to which people put their names in a hat with lists prioritizing games on a 1-5 (or something).

C) There are PFS games (and PF Card games) that are open on a first-come/first-serve sign-up sheet.

.

A big "Thanks" in advance for answering and clarifying.

Scarab Sages

A) There are "Events" which include everything from seminars to lectures to the banquet.
A1) You only have to pay separately for the Banquet.
A2) You do need to sign up for all the other events and seminars on the event list, and you will get a ticket for them, but many of the 3PP seminars do not completely fill up and you should be able to get into them last minute. The PFS seminar and many of the other Paizo seminars fill up quickly though.

B) more or less correct on this.

C) PFS and ACG games may also be signed up for in advance online, and you'll get your ticket for these when you sign in at registration for your badge.
C1) These official PFS tickets should also be available to grab during the show as well. although I forget where you do that (possibly the dealer hall).
C2) The last couple years they had a break in the middle slot each day, and the local VO's set up PFS pick-up game schedule for those times. Those are often first come, first served as a signup on the wall or Warhorn.

So, is the button live? where will it be located? This is my first time coming to the Con, and I am lost on how this all works and it is only 3 weeks away

Also, how do i sign up from both myself and my son so we play together? He has a separate Paizo account that we set up for him to buy the Con tickets. How do I make sure we are in the same games

Events are *technically* live, but there's no way to navigate to any of them -.-

Working on that asap.

By the end of today the paizocon landing page should be updated to have a link to the event schedule, we'll have a brief window for people to select lottery preferences, run the lottery for game events and then people will be able to trade, swap or grab free spaces in games as well as register for PFS and seminars. The schedule for signing up IS going to be a bit tight this year, but we have lots of fantastic content.

Thanks
Sara Marie

By brief I hope you mean about a day. Or at least 10-12 hours as I can't access from work.

So how do I sign up for both my Son and I so we are in the same lottery and play together? I can't find anything other than him transferring his ticket to me, but I don't think that is right and I don't want to risk doing that and then missing the whole window trying to fix it.

I would rather know now how to do this and be ready so when teh "few" hours to sign up are here I can do so.

Sorry, I realise that comes off as being rude. Many apologies to the Paizo staff who no doubt have been working their but off to get this organised.

If you follow Sara Marie's link to the event schedule, you'll see details of the "buddy system" to the right.

thanks, so no signup until Friday Noon - is that PST? - Edit -
Disregard looks like the Noon is my time, 10am PST

I also see there are only 9 PFS lottery options. does that mean any other Pathfinder game played as a lottery carries no chronicle? do I need to bring a non-pfs character to play those?

it was odd to see the We Be Goblins not showing up as PFS, so wasn't sure.

Grand Lodge

Most PFS games are not lottery events, but first come first served. There are generally enough tables that everyone who wants to get in a table can until well into the signups.

Lottery tables will tell you in their description what characters you need to bring, from your own, to PFS legal, to 'we will provide pregens'. Only PFS events carry a chronicle, other games are run by Paizo staff and guests as just a good few hours of fun. Some of those tables may use modules that are PFS sanctioned, but only those that are marked as PFS will have chronicles. (We Be Goblins is a sanctioned module, not an actual PFS scenario.)

Lantern Lodge Customer Service Manager

The PFS lottery events are games being run outside of the PFS ballroom. Most of them are being run by the author of the scenario (look for "GM Author Edition"). The PFS games in the ballroom are not part of the lottery and will be available for open registration when that part of the process begins.

Hi Sara

I don't want to make any work for you, but would it be easy to dump the schedule into a PDF (or does that already exist somewhere)?

Doesn't exist in a format that we can publicly distribute due to something that has yet to be announced.

No worries.

If you could just put me down for that thing, that'd be grand. :)

Did anyone else notice on the last page (Monday morning), there are a couple oddly out of place events at the bottom of the page, after all the Monday events? I'm guessing that's not right?

After the last Monday Event, we see:

Friday morning
#7-10: The Consortium Compact
Friday morning, 8:00 am–1:00 pm • Grand Ballroom

Friday evening
#8-21: Champion's Chalice, Part 2: Agents of the Eye
Friday evening, 7:00–11:59 pm • Grand Ballroom

Saturday morning
#7-10: The Consortium Compact
Saturday morning, 8:00 am–1:00 pm • Grand Ballroom

Pathfinder Society Academy
Saturday morning, 8:00 am–1:00 pm • Grand Ballroom

Pathfinder Society Quest #3: Honor's Edge
Saturday morning, 8:00 am–1:00 pm • Grand Ballroom

One of the events I'm running has an error in the Age rating. It's really an 18+ event for content, but is listed as a 13+ event. (This was probably my error upon submission of the game.)

I emailed Sara Marie, but I'm sure she's swamped.

Thanks for pointing this out! It looks like those events had some inconsistencies in the data, but they've been fixed now and should be displaying on the correct day.

For concerns or changes to events, it's probably best to email paizocon@paizo.com. We're all a bit swamped right now, so sending it to this inbox means there are more eyes on it and it's likely to be dealt with faster.

Can you please rename this event for me, please?

Thanks!

Should be:
#7-17: Thralls of the Shattered God (GM Author Edition)

This should bring it in-line with the naming convention I've seen.

Thanks!!

Edit: I also just noticed it says "Scenarios Unspecified scenario(s)" instead of the actual scenario.

@ Andrew Hoskins,

The way things could turn out, I could very well be at your table Saturday morning at 8:00 to kill all your beloved monsters still in thrall of whatever shattered god they serve. (It's my only lottery pick on Saturday.)

Let this serve as notice!

Hi, Katina.

I hate to bug you again, but the same event has one more error... This RPG has a hard max of 5 PCs, but the event is listed as having 6 slots.

Would you be able to change that?

(Again, this was probably my error from when I filled out the event submission form.)

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

Hello Katina or Sara Marie,

Would it be possible to add another session of We Be Leshys! to the event schedule? I should have been more clear I wanted to run this more than once, so I apologize for that.

I am available any time except during the Saturday afternoon slot and the banquet.

Thanks!

Liberty's Edge

Starting to get a bit nervous. It's the end of the day Monday, and I still don't have a e-ticket for PaizoCon for my Tier 2 PFS volunteering. The lottery closes in less than two days....

Hmm, it just came through. Thank you to whoever is working late!

Am I crazy (entirely possible!) or did the Lottery Closing time/day change?

I could have sworn the Lottery ended today at 1PM (Pacific time) but now I see it says: Event lottery signup will close tomorrow, 03:00 pm

Lantern Lodge Customer Service Manager

I adjusted the dates and times for the lottery for a number of reasons including customer service being completely unavailable today from 1pm-3pm.

Event lottery signup began
Fri, May 5, 2017, 10:00 am

Event lottery signup will close
tomorrow, 12:00 pm

Open event signup will begin
Friday, 10:00 am

Open event signup will close
Mon, May 22, 2017, 10:00 am

Event trading will begin

I noticed that too. It was definitely today earlier in the week, and when I checked this morning I thought it said tomorrow at 10AM (PST), now it says noon (PST).

Lantern Lodge Customer Service Manager

I apologize for the confusion, I realized it need to shift about 1 minute before I had to leave last night and I figured it was better to shift dates and explain today than to wait until today to shift the times.

The pause between getting the lottery schedule and signing up for open events is much better as well. Allows for planning, as well as any issues to be resolved before the mad dash.
